Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a message letting you know that one of your recent edits to 1400–1500 in European fashion has been undone by an automated computer program called ClueBot NG.

Reference Errors on 11 February[edit]

Hello, I'm ReferenceBot. I have automatically detected that an edit performed by you may have introduced errors in referencing. It is as follows:

Please check this page and fix the errors highlighted. If you think this is a false positive, you can report it to my operator. Thanks, ReferenceBot (talk) 00:19, 12 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

ART 271[edit]

Hey Caroline5894—thanks for your recent contributions. I noticed your enrollment in Franklin and Marshall's History of Fashionable Dress course and I wanted to say hello since I'll be helping out online. If you have any questions about Wikipedia or want advice about an edit, drop me a note on my talk page. You might also be interested in the quick student training crash course, if you haven't done it already. Welcome to Wikipedia, and I'll be seeing you around! czar  16:02, 23 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Edit summaries and minor edits[edit]

Some of your recent edits did not include an edit summary (that's the box I added here, to the right). Put a brief summary of the action you took on the page in the edit summary box before submitting so that other editors know what you worked on. You can see other editors' summaries by going to the page history.

Also that little checkbox for "minor" edits is to designate that an edit was purely superficial, such as fixing a typo. If adding new text or images, an editor might potentially find the change controversial, and such edits should not be marked as minor. If you have any questions, feel free to reply right here, since I'm watching this page. Take care czar  16:04, 23 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Close paraphrasing and plagiarism[edit]

Hi Caroline, in reviewing some of the class's recent edits, I noticed that your edits to 1850s in Western fashion had some very close paraphrasing to its source. I've removed the text for now. Remember that edits should be a completely original paraphrase and not have substantial similarity to the text (using the same wording and changing the occasional word), which could constitute copyright infringement. Additionally, that source does not meet WP's reliable source criteria, particularly because it lacks editorial oversight. I would recommend using a book from the library or a site recommended by your prof for now. Let me know if I can help with any of this. czar  05:14, 24 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
