more info please...[edit]

If this can be cited to a verifiable, authoritative source, of course it belong. Do you have a verifiable, authoritative source?

Cheers! Geo Swan 18:27, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi

Yes, it is here:

http://media.guardian.co.uk/site/story/0,,2094030,00.html

This is a review in the left of centre national British newspaper, the Observer, of the television programme, which reports on its content.

Greetings!
Thanks for your reply at User talk:Geo Swan.
I'll give you some tips on how to reply. I modified your reply.
  1. Replies are usually indented one tab stop, relative to the text it is a reply to. That can be done by prefixing the line with one or more colons, asterisks, or sharp signs.
  2. Replies are signed, and date stamped, automatically, by ending them with four tilde characters.~~~~.
  3. Enclosing text between two pairs of apostrophes puts it into italics. Using three apostrophes puts it in bold. Five apostrophes results in both bold and italics.
  4. A line that starts with some equals sign, and ends withe same number of equals signs becomes a section heading.
  5. You can pasta link, like the one I used above by:
    1. Make the edit.
    2. Use the "history" button to select the edits you want to look at.
    3. Then copy the URL from your browser's location bar.
    4. Past the URL between a pair of brackets, like this: [1]
    5. If you follow the pasted URL with a blank space, and then some text, that becomes the text in the link
    6. Links enclosed between double brackets are links to other articles in the wiki, like Wikipedia:Bite. which says older users shouldn't bully new users.
  6. Finally, use the "edit summary" to give your contribution a brief, meaningful description. This summmary is not just handy, when reading a page's history, but, if you should ever run for administrator you get scored by how often you provided a summary
Some experienced respondents follow the rule that they leave the reply on the same talk page where the query was.
Enjoy! Geo Swan 17:31, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing in accordance with Wikipedia's blocking policy for abusing multiple accounts for edit-warring and attacks. If you believe this block is unjustified you may contest this block by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} below. Alex Bakharev (talk) 00:17, 21 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There is a team of editors on this site who are repeatedly removing references to Press TV having been condemned by a prominent anti-fascist organisation. No reason for removing this information has been given. Please unblock me, and please re-insert the information

No sorry, you have not addressed the facts of your block - particularly the abuse of multiple accounts.--VS talk 10:36, 21 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I have not been using multiple accounts! I am using one account. Surely you can see that I am posting from one IP address only (possibly two: my home one), under this name, which I have used for years? Why do you think I am using multiple accounts?

Decline reason:

Your edits and editing style are extremely similar to Guddasimonardottir (talk · contribs), who was re-adding the same content at around the same time as you. Please see this page for more information. — Hersfold (t/a/c) 15:35, 21 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

But you must be able to see that the Guddawassisname person is posting from a different IP address from me, and that I have only ever posted as Bukhari and always from two places: my work and my home. We can't be the same person! In any case, I edited a Guddathinggy post, and took out what I thought was waffle. Why would I do that if I were the same person as him/her?

A checkuser request by the blocking admin would probably be in order here. Tan | 39 16:47, 21 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
A checkuser request may be inconclusive, for example, if the user keeps his accounts on seperate networks. Since this user is practically begging for a checkuser to prove their innocence, the most important method here for determining a connection between the accounts is the duck test. However, it would be helpful if the blocking admin could posts diffs to show specific edits that back up his assertion these are the same person. --Jayron32.talk.contribs 19:45, 21 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I have posted a request to the blocking admin for additional information pertaining to this block. Please be patient while we await his response. Thank you. --Jayron32.talk.contribs 19:47, 21 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I was forwarded by a checkuser from User:YellowMonkey showing that Bukhari is a likely sockpuppeteer of User:Solway08, User:Guddasimonardottir and User:Gudda_Simonardottir. I have asked YellowMonkey to confirm his findings onwiki Alex Bakharev (talk) 00:47, 22 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

All in the same physical location on the same ISP. YellowMonkey (click here to choose Australia's next top model!) 00:55, 22 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I can't really understand the Wikipedia jargon in which this response is written. However, if somebody is saying that I am posting from the same location and ISP as Simonardottir I would be grateful if you could tell me what those ISP and locations details are. I work in a small office with only about 100 people in it, and I cannot believe that Simonardottir is somebody writing from my workplace. My IP address is 217.37.233.93 Neighborhood Host : host217-37-233-93.in-addr.btopenworld.com BtOpenworld is British Telecom: the company that runs the UK telephone network. It is basically the largest ISP in the UK. So a huge proportion of people in the UK will have this IP address. However, from May 2007 (when I moved jobs) it will ALWAYS have been 217.37.233.93 (or my home ISP which is NTL or Virgin (the company changed names recently). Unless Simonsdotir is actually working in my office, then their IP address will be different. Can you please confirm that. I also think that you are suggesting that I am, in any case, using different ISPs at work to hide my supposed multiple "sockpuppets", so I'm not sure how this information will help me, as you have clearly decided that two people who are trying to edit back in information that supporters of the Islamic Republic of Iran are trying to hide must be the same "duck". Please consider how I might accomplish this. I know that people use computer techniques to make it look like they're posting from some obscure IP address in an odd country: but how would I manage, during work hours, at my work computer, to switch ISP addresses from one BT ISP number to another? Nevertheless, I would be grateful to know whether you are saying that (a) Simonardottir and I are the same person posting from the same ISP or (b) we are the same person posting from different ISPs in order cunningly to fool you. Obviously, I can't win here. But I would still like to know.

Decline reason:

A checkuser has confirmed sock puppetry. The block is indefinite. I will discuss with the blocking admin whether this can be fixed at a reasonable interval, such as one or two weeks. Please do not request another appeal. Normally we only allow two appeals. — Jehochman Talk 11:23, 22 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
