Please stop the POV edits[edit]

Hello, welcome to Wikipedia. It appears as though you aren't yet familiar with how we do things around here, and I would advise that you find out before you edit further. The edits that you made recently have all been deleted because they showed a lack of regard for Neutral Point of View, something that Wikipedians take very seriously. Be assured that any edits you make in the future will also be subject to review by other editors, and they too will be deleted if you continue to impose your point of view onto articles you disagree with.

If you have any problems with the information already present in an article, the best thing to do would be to express yourself on that article's talk page. Your modifications on the pages related to women's right (etc.) are simply not acceptable. If you wish to remain a member of the Wikipedia community I strongly recommend you modify your behaviour. Please remember that this is an encyclopedia and is therefore meant to be a reliable source of verifiable knowledge (see WP:V). That excludes points of view, as stressed on WP:NPOV. Please do not vandalize my user page. If you have anything to say to me use my talk page, like everyone else. You state that I deleted your "factual" edits. I might point out that I deleted nothing of what you edited, other users did. Several other users actually, so this obviously isn't due to a personal bias of mine as you say. Myself and these other users just ensure that the policies of wikipedia are enforced. I see that I am not the only one to have deemed useful to write to you on your user page. For someone who has only been registered for 2 days that's quite something, don't you think?

My only modification of your contributions was the deletion of your Weekly Musician entry which was just an ad and has nothing to do in an encyclopedia, as I mentionned above.

It would also be good of you to sign your posts using four ~, and also make use of edit summaries to explain to others your modifications, as I stated above.

Indeed, I am a male supporter of feminism. That means that I support a movement that aims to promote equality between genders, though I gather that your own opinion on this question is quite different. Please note that unlike you, I do not let my personal opinions get in my way when I edit Wikipedia. I stick to the facts that you seem so dearly attached to. If in the future you do not want your edits deleted as POV make sure to cite your sources. In this manner no-one can remove your edits. However, opinions, and particular sexist, inflammatory or unjustified edits will be deleted on sight.

Hypocrite[edit]

This User is so upset about what Nicholas Turnbull did regarding userboxes yet yhis user has deleted factual modifications by user billcica based on this user's own biased oppinion. This user has a box clearly stating her possition on feminism but still removed facts from women's rights and other related topics. This is biased and hypocritical and can't be allowed. The facts removed were said to be POV, or of billcica's point of view and not of a factual basis. While the lines deleted were clearly provable, verifiable facts. If this user had taken the time to look into these facts this user would have known not to use her own bias to delete important and often over looked facts. This user said the facts were deleted because wikipedia.org doesn't include "points of view," while the facts this user chose to delete clearly show this user's point of view. Her imposing of hypocritical beliefs on all of the wikipedia members shouldn't be allowed. Ask user billcica if any of the facts this user deleted were untrue or unverifiable. Make sure you get the truth from someone who knows and not from closed minded hypocrites.

Thank you for at least putting your complaint on the correct page, rather than insisting on vandalizing userpages. However, it is customary to add comments in chronological order, from top to down, so I have moved what you posted at the top of my page to here.

Secondly, I am not even going to bother answering all of your "issues" here because they are completely rediculous. If you are going to attempt to be a Wikipedian, please learn how things are done around here first. Otherwise, you will be facing an inevitable block.

Thirdly, if you insist on putting "facts" onto Wikipedia articles, you MUST cite your sources. Without citation, there is no way to know the factuality of a statement, and ANYTHING, no matter what it is or who says it, will be deleted if it is not properly sourced. This has nothing to do with biases.

Finally, to delete information from your own user talk page is certainly your perogative, but it is not standard Wikipedia policy. Besides, anyone can look at your history to see that you are deleting complaints posted against you, which looks like you have something to hide. I am copying this message onto your user talk page, as it involves you as well and should not only reside here.

In closing, please stop the vandalism, and please try to remain civil. We are all trying to build a great encyclopedia here, and name-calling just wastes time and energy. --Romarin 23:53, 6 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Forty-eight hour block for persistent incivility and POV editing[edit]

Dear Billcica:

Firstly, I must inform you that the blanking of text on your talk page, as opposed to archiving it in a subpage, is generally considered poor Wikipedia etiquette - especially, I might add, when the messages in question are in dispute of your actions, as this gives the impression of ignoring criticism. I have thus restored the messages left by Romarin and IronChris above, due to your creation of a "collage" of Romarin's prose from a message to you through selective editing; the mischaracterisation of others' edits through modification really is not acceptable.

I have blocked you for forty-eight hours due to your persistent incivility, unwillingness to cooperate with others, and persistent penchant for ignoring Wikipedia:Neutral point of view and Wikipedia:Cite sources. On Wikipedia, claims are added to the article on the basis of what is referenced elsewhere as being correct versus what is correct in the opinion of the author; this is because Wikipedia is a so-called "tertiary source", in that it researches from original experiences to produce article content. Your persistent claims regarding women's rights in the United States must be referenced if a reference is available; if they can be referenced, they must also be written in an encyclopaedic and unbiased manner, as per the NPOV policy - indeed, I cannot see how the claims you are adding could be considered to fall within the purview of a neutral encyclopaedia article, although I leave that with you to make your edits conform with Wikipedia policy. I would, however, caution you against making edits for the sake of controversy. May I also point out to you a Wikipedia policy, WP:NOT, that clearly states what Wikipedia is not for; it is not a vehicle for free speech, nor is it a political soapbox.

I must also inform you of Wikipedia:Civility, which is a policy I consider to be as non-negotiable as NPOV. There is no excuse for rudeness towards others, or mischaracterisation of their edits to you. Please do try to behave nicely towards others; be willing to listen, respond and discuss amicably and in good spirit with those whom you disagree with. There is never any harm caused by trying to make the world a little better place by some kindness and sensitivity here and there.

In summary, please do respect our NPOV editorial policy, and try to be more civil in the future. If you continue in your current line of behaviour, you will be blocked again, and indeed should you persist further after that you may well be banned indefinitely from editing Wikipedia. I would like you to please take this second chance as an opportunity to improve yourself, and to contribute to our project. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL.
