Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Gina 150x180.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Gina 150x180.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 22:39, 22 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

January 2008[edit]

Please do not add copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder, as you did to Adam (Torchwood). For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. You have been blocked from editing for a period of 12 hours in accordance with Wikipedia's blocking policy for repeated copyright violations. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make constructive contributions. If you believe this block is unjustified, you may contest the block by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} below. EdokterTalk 02:15, 7 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

All violations edited to an extent they were no longer a copyright violation.

Decline reason:

Maybe, but you're not quite getting this. They were not written in an encylopedic style. It's a short block; sit it out and then come back and show us you've learned something. — Daniel Case (talk) 02:27, 7 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

{{helpme|Why are the Skins episode pages being deleted when there part of WikiProject British TV shows?}}

Your recent edits[edit]

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 23:21, 17 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

February 2008[edit]

Hi, the recent edit you made to List of Skins episodes has been reverted, as it appears to be unconstructive. Use the sandbox for testing; if you believe the edit was constructive, ensure that you provide an informative edit summary. You may also wish to read the introduction to editing. Thanks. Party!Talk to me! 23:18, 18 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I reverted the edit, and have done it again, as it was a copyright violation.

Recent edit[edit]

You undid my recent edit for being less informative, but how is calling someone openly gay (quite an offensive thing, since it makes homosexuality sound negative. 172.203.176.142 (talk) 00:54, 19 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

it is less informative, as closet homosexuality is a common plot device on such TV shows, so stating that the character is openly gay is more informative.

The recent edit you made to List of Skins characters constitutes vandalism, and has been reverted. Please do not continue to vandalize pages; use the sandbox for testing. Thanks. - Milk's Favorite Cookie 20:52, 19 February 2008 (UTC))[reply]

It is not vandalism, that information should go in the list of skins episodes, not the character bio's, however what you are doing is vandalism and will now be reported.

Skins Protection[edit]

Yeah, some of the IP's do make some useful contributions, but we are getting a lot of vandalism, Copy-Vio and other annoyances..

I've done Mitch Hewer and List of Skins episodes, but if there are any others you think could benefit for a bit, just let me know

Skins Characters on main page[edit]

Hi . I just wanted to comment about the ongoing debate about the appearance of the Former Notable Characters section on the front of the Skins page. About a month and a half ago (approximately), I saw the page and the character section was seperated into three parts "Main Characters" "Supporting Characters" and "Parents". (Was that you who did that?) I assumed that the inclusion of the "Parents" as a sub-group was meant to be significant in some way perhaps because they were the "Antagonists" of the main characters or were they there because of the actors' notoriety. It was also odd as there already is a seperate page with a lot of the characters with character descriptions attached. I think what really happened lately was at the end of last week's episode where Mark Jenkins died, a user had added "former character" beside the actor's name along with 3 other actors in the Parents section, who may or may not be coming back. Soon, a mod saw this and created that subdivision "Former Characters", but under that category they also put Cassie's parents underneath it, when it hasn't been confirmed if they are not returning. and why is it all the parents, what about other characters? What about Angie? Is she returning? We are only at Episode 4 of a 10 episode series. I would suggest leaving the Character list as it is on the front page, but then place the characters by series (Current and Former) in the expanded page linked above the characters section). I think that the parents subdivision has a certain place within the page, otherwise other notable faces would have been added. The section is titled "Parents, not Other characters" like the expanded page. I have spoke to Mikay, the mod who made the decision to add the Subdivision "Former Characters" and he agreed with my suggestions. (Check his user page)We are trying to figure out what the best course of action is to fix this situation. I appreciate your work on Wikipedia . Skins episodes[edit]

Having episode pages has never bothered me...just you re-created one after they had already gone thtough a discussion. Unless you want to have them deleted by people who go around looking for pages to delete..then you should make shure they follow Wikipedia:EPISODE, or create series pages. Gavin & Stacey[edit]

Hello. Whilst the recent changes to Gavin & Stacey are trivial (not done by me) they dont constitute vandalism hence the update block you have applied is inappropriate. More worryingly, in reverting those changes you have reinstated the plot spoilers. Please revert the page to the version 21.09 on 19March08. Oxford Wikimania 2010 and Wikimedia UK v2.0 Notice[edit]

Hi,

As a regularly contributing UK Wikipedian, we were wondering if you wanted to contribute to the Oxford bid to host the 2010 Wikimania conference. Please see here for details of how to get involved, we need all the help we can get if we are to put in a compelling bid.

We are also in the process of forming a new UK Wikimedia chapter to replace the soon to be folded old one. If you are interested in helping shape our plans, showing your support or becoming a future member or board member, please head over to the Wikimedia UK v2.0 page and let us know. We plan on holding an election in the next month to find the initial board, who will oversee the process of founding the company and accepting membership applications. They will then call an AGM to formally elect a new board who after obtaining charitable status will start the fund raising, promotion and active support for the UK Wikimedian community for which the chapter is being founded.

You may also wish to attend the next London meet-up at which both of these issues will be discussed. If you can't attend this meetup, you may want to watch Wikipedia:Meetup, for updates on future meets.

We look forward to hearing from you soon, and we send our apologies for this automated intrusion onto your talk page!

Merlin[edit]

If you look, the plot of the episode is referenced. Its the first reference on the page which shows the topic on the third episode, along side on Michelle Ryan guest starring. It is refferenced! Don't die now! :D (talk) 20:50, 23 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

File copyright problem with File:Sketch Spying On Maxxie.JPG[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Sketch Spying On Maxxie.JPG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 17:44, 6 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Notice

The article Victoria "Vicki" Nelson has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

The coverage (references, external links, etc.) does not seem sufficient to justify this article passing Wikipedia:General notability guideline requirement nor the more detailed Wikipedia:Notability (fiction) supplementary essay. WP:BEFORE did not reveal any significant coverage on Gnews, Gbooks or Gscholar. If you disagree and deprod this, please explain how it meets them on the talk page here in the form of "This article meets criteria A and B because..." and ping me back through WP:ECHO or by leaving a note at User talk:Piotrus. Thank you.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
