Navy Blue / Navy Blues

Hi Bensin. I created this category: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Navy_Blue_%28disambiguation%29 ... but only noticed now that Navy Blues (disambiguation) already exists. So the new category should be deleted, right? --Hydao (talk) 17:43, 5 January 2013 (UTC)

Hello! I'm not sure I understand what you mean. The link above is a link to a disambiguation page, not a category. Could you please link me to both of the items you refer to? --Bensin (talk) 06:47, 6 January 2013 (UTC)
I created this category, I wanted to say disambiguation page, sorry. I created the disambiguation page for Navy Blue, but after all there is Navy Blues created by you. The one I created should be deleted I guess. Thanks. :) --Hydao (talk) 08:59, 6 January 2013 (UTC)
Oh, I see. So the issue is with the two disambiguation pages Navy Blue (disambiguation) and Navy Blues. My recommendation would be to merge Navy Blues into Navy Blue (disambiguation) because the latter is in singular form. Just move the content from the first into the second and make the old page a redirect to the new. --Bensin (talk) 09:42, 6 January 2013 (UTC)
Done.--Hydao (talk) 09:50, 6 January 2013 (UTC)
Nice! :-) --Bensin (talk) 10:11, 6 January 2013 (UTC)

The Special Barnstar
Dear Bensin,

Thank you so much for being such a great collaborator last year! I really enjoyed working with you on our editor engagement projects and I hope we'll get a chance to continue this relationship in coming years. Your guidance and insights mean a lot to me. :)

If you would like to keep in touch more often, I invite you to join our editor engagement mailing list, where we discuss initiatives that support new users and experienced editors on Wikipedia. We recently opened this list to the public, so we could have more frequent conversations with valued community members like you. To join us, you are very welcome to sign up here.

And if you haven't already, I also encourage you to contribute to the current discussion on whether or not to deploy Article Feedback v5 widely on the English Wikipedia (see RfC). Because of your familiarity with this tool, you are in a unique position to present an informed perspective on its potential benefits. Note that we are adding a few final features recommended by the community, such as simpler moderation tools and better filters (see project update).

Thanks again for being such a wonderful advisor -- I look forward to more collaborations with you, to help make Wikipedia better for all of us!

Regards as ever,

Cher- Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves

Hi there, Could you please change Cher's single/album page for Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves, it is written "Gypsys" and the correct word is "Gypsies". Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Uncleangelo (talkcontribs) 00:18, 23 January 2013 (UTC)

Hello! Looking at the three album covers in the article Gypsys, Tramps & Thieves, it seems the spelling for this particular work is actually "Gypsys". -- Bensin (talk) 17:27, 23 January 2013 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Taylor Dayne, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Naked Without You (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Fetal stethoscope

Is this what you are looking for? SpinningSpark 09:34, 11 February 2013 (UTC)

Hello! The article says "an acoustic stethoscope shaped like a listening trumpet. It is placed against the abdomen of a pregnant woman", so it looks like it. I'll put it in. Thanks! --Bensin (talk) 15:14, 11 February 2013 (UTC)

I noticed your addition. My concern is one of balance -- devoting an entire paragraph to one study seems a bit much. Further, in the context of the article, the claim seems bizarre -- 22000% return on investment for lobbying -- perhaps these professors found, in one instance, that such returns were achieved, but it can hardly be believed to be true for lobbying in general. There are too many cases when lobbying activities stalemate each other. So how about if we keep the reference, but include it to support a more general claim that some academics have suggested that the ROI on lobbying could be quite lucrative -- something like that?--Tomwsulcer (talk) 18:46, 7 March 2013 (UTC)

I agree! Hence my second edit where I clarified that the 22000% was for the specific case. But sure, your suggestion is fair. Go ahead! --Bensin (talk) 19:30, 7 March 2013 (UTC)

Please help

Dear Bensin, could you please check the talk page of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robby_Robinson_(bodybuilder) and help to achieve fairness in materials put on article about Robby Robinson? I would like to hear your opinion if you also support that within a couple of days an article about a famous bodybuilding legend turned out into an article about a ... I do not even have words. All the previous contributions were deleted, not only those from me, and new ones are presented so misleading that people who know Mr Robinson and his life and achievements will never believe this is an article about him. Thak you. RRWM (talk) 01:06, 2 May 2013 (UTC)

Hello! As you can see, my only contribution to the article was a removal of a misplaces link. I don't really know much about the subject. My advice to you is to make smaller, incremental changes to the article, and to source every claim. Either using inline citation or by giving the source in the edit summary field. Every claim not supported by a source are subject to question. Also, stay calm, rational and brief on the article's discussion page. On another note: I've tagged this image and asked for an OTRS-ticket to verify the images' copyright status. --Bensin (talk) 15:05, 4 May 2013 (UTC)

The article Jannicke Systad Jacobsen has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this newly created biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article. The nominator also raised the following concern:

All biographies of living people created after March 18, 2010, must have references.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Tassedethe (talk) 23:42, 26 May 2013 (UTC)

That was intentional. It appears to me the book deals with several meanings of the word. Someone with access to the book may specify which ones. --Bensin (talk) 16:03, 28 May 2013 (UTC)

Article Feedback Tool update

Hey Bensin. I'm contacting you because you're involved in the Article Feedback Tool in some way, either as a previous newsletter recipient or as an active user of the system. As you might have heard, a user recently anonymously disabled the feedback tool on 2,000 pages. We were unable to track or prevent this due to the lack of logging feature in AFT5. We're deeply sorry for this, as we know that quite a few users found the software very useful, and were using it on their articles.

We've now re-released the software, with the addition of a logging feature and restrictions on the ability to disable. Obviously, we're not going to automatically re-enable it on each article—we don't want to create a situation where it was enabled by users who have now moved on, and feedback would sit there unattended—but if you're interested in enabling it for your articles, it's pretty simple to do. Just go to the article you want to enable it on, click the "request feedback" link in the toolbox in the sidebar, and AFT5 will be enabled for that article.

Again, we're very sorry about this issue; hopefully it'll be smooth sailing after this :). If you have any questions, just drop them at the talkpage. Thanks! Okeyes (WMF) 21:32, 1 September 2013 (UTC)

The article Peter Newman (producer) has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references.
