Article deletion[edit]

Your article was deleted under CSD-A7. CSD-A7 means "Criteria for Speedy Deletion #7 - Unremarkable people or groups. An article about a real person, group of people, band, or club that does not assert the importance or significance of its subject. If the assertion is disputed or controversial, it should be taken to AFD instead. (See Wikipedia:Deletion of vanity articles for further guidance on this criterion)."

Wikipedia is not a collection of random information and weblinks. It is an encyclopedia. As such, Wikipedia has rules on the notability of articles it contains, including guidelines such as WP:WEB for the significance of websites that gain their own articles. Your forum is not significant or notable under those rules.

Here's our standard welcome message, which has useful links for new editors on how to write an article that fits with Wikipedia criteria for encyclopedic articles:

--- Cheers Redvers, I must confess to being ignorant of the vanity policy but I guess it makes sense. Thanks for all the links etc. Benphase 11:38, 6 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Anything Forums Logo.gif)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Anything Forums Logo.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:19, 5 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
