Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, Ben's Temple. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. I noticed your post at Requests for Permissions - I appreciate it may come across as a lot, but if you are planning to contribute to Wikipedia about of on behalf of your company, please take the time to read the conflict of interest guideline and paid-contribution disclosure requirement linked above. If you have any questions, then feel free to ask myself or at the Teahouse. All the best user:A smart kittenmeow 17:22, 26 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Editing of Franklin Templeton Investments[edit]

Hi Ben's Temple,

If possible, please could you confirm whether or not you received my message above? (I’m aware that sometimes there has been an issue where editors aren’t properly notified of messages on their talk page.)

Also, may I request that, if you wish to perform any other edits on the article for Franklin Templeton Investments, you make an edit request rather than making the changes directly? This will allow your proposed modifications to be reviewed by other editors prior to them being added to the article — as editors with a conflict of interest are strongly discouraged from making edits themselves to the articles with which they have a conflict of interest.

Finally, if you are editing Wikipedia for pay (e.g. as an employee of Franklin Templeton Investments), I’d just wish to let you know that you are required to disclose this — you can do this by completing the {{paid}} template, and adding the completed template to your userpage.

Let me know if you have any questions about anything I’ve said.
