FYI - I moved your article Alan Davidson Children's Author to Alan Davidson (children's author). I also added a link on the Alan Davidson page so that page includes him among the listing of Alan Davidsons. Lcarscad 16:02, 4 March 2007 (UTC) ==[[:Alan Davidson (children's author)[reply]

==AfD nomination of Alan Davidson (author)

The AfD resulted in a delete consensus. However, I think everyone can agree that this might be a topic worth covering if it can just be explained more and sourced more thoroughly. As the closer, I decided it would be better if the article was moved to your userspace rather than deleted, so you can continue working on it. It now resides at User:Bee Redding/Alan Davidson (author). Edit at your leisure. Oh, and welcome to wikipedia; I'll leave you a welcome message below that can help familiarize you with how things work around here. Mangojuicetalk 13:43, 8 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

{{helpme}} I got back to England at the weekend and see article was deleted but am invited to revise. Had dug out some new sources before I left, a complete rewrite required I think. If I do this work on my user page, as you suggest, how exactly do I re-submit? Bee Redding 14:24, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What you need to do is to perform a page move; click the "move" tab and enter the name of the article. I looked over what you wrote and it seems better, but I would advise that you Wikify the article before moving it back: right now the formatting makes it look like a reprint of something. I looked at the article changes that Cquan made and I think they're appropriate. The sources he removed weren't actually backing up any of the article text, at least it doesn't look that way to me, rather, they were just a bunch of quotes from book reviews that I suppose would establish notability if anyone is concerned about that. I wouldn't mind having them as items for "further reading", but the quotes have to go: the way it was, it was like the article was a book jacket, trying to sell the author's books. That said, I don't see a lot of point in including references to the reviews if they aren't online, as they won't do much good as "further reading" or anything like that. My advice is, restore the references, but I think it's not necessary to include the quotes from the material just because it's not online material: there is already enough of an online source bias on here, and it would be bad practice to avoid, deprecate, or apologize for references that aren't online. MARGERY FISHER (children's literature expert) 1913 - 1992[edit]

I moved the article to Margery Fisher. It's very unlikely that anybody would type in MARGERY FISHER (children's literature expert) 1913 - 1992. Also there is only one person on Wikipedia with that name and so it doesn't need the extra wording and capitalisation for names. Cheers. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 12:02, 12 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You forgot the references section. Cheers. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 13:01, 12 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Anne Digby[edit]

Bee, I notice you have removed some of the material I added to the article on Anne Digby, on the basis that it's "inaccurate". I notice in the history you've done this before when someone else tried to add it - it was cited back then too, although the markup was borked. Please explain - are Amazon, the Story Paper Index and Books Monthly wrong to say Digby's real name is Pat Davidson, and if so, how do you know this? Also, you have left in information about her comics work that is only accurate if Anne Digby is Pat Davidson, and that her husband is Alan Davidson, while removing the refs that make the identification. If Anne Digby is not Pat Davidson, all this will have to go as well. If she is, it all needs to go back. --Nicknack009 (talk) 21:22, 17 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

OK, you've had time to explain and haven't done so, so all the cited material goes back in. --Nicknack009 (talk) 09:55, 29 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, have only just caught up with my new messages. Take your point about the comics refs, which I missed and am deleting. Detailed discussion about the inaccuracies is not appropriate on a public forum but perhaps you have an email address. Cheers. Bee Bee Redding (talk) 10:41, 1 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
