Welcome!

Hello, Baroquesmguy, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome!  --Thorpe | talk 11:35, 19 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

More welcome[edit]

Welcome! Thanks for your edits on Cornetto and related articles. I noticed your note on Talk:Andreas Hofer. If you want to create an article about the composer, you can write it at Andreas Hofer (composer) and then leave a little note at the top of the original article, something like this:

This article is about the Tyrolean Patriot. For the Austrian composer, please see Andreas Hofer (composer)

I hope this is helpful, and if you have any questions please feel free to ask me. Mak (talk) 23:34, 29 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Missa Salisburgensis à 53 voci[edit]

The article you created — Missa Salisburgensis à 53 voci — was tagged for speedy deletion. I removed the tag as it is apparently a notable piece of Baroque music. It would be much appreciated if you would provide references — see WP:CITE and WP:Verify. — ERcheck (talk) 00:06, 17 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:Valérie Masquida.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Valérie Masquida.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 23:09, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Kiiiiiii[edit]

A tag has been placed on Kiiiiiii requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Mayalld (talk) 11:00, 10 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Vinzenz Fux, and it appears to be very similar to another wikipedia page: Vincenz Fux. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. Unreferenced BLPs[edit]

Hello Baroquesmguy! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 2 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. if you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 938 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

  1. Patricia Petibon - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL
  2. Chica Sato - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

July 2017[edit]

Please stop adding unreferenced or poorly referenced biographical content, especially if controversial, to articles or any other Wikipedia page, as you did at Van Badham. Content of this nature could be regarded as defamatory and is in violation of Wikipedia policy. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. If you return to the same pattern of edits again relating to Van Badham, the next block is likely to be indefinite. You appear to be trying to use Wikipedia as an attack platform against this person. Acroterion (talk) 00:36, 28 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

The reason why I was blocked was irrational and purely vindictive. I will not comment on Van Badham's page again. My interest is producing articles on music.

Decline reason:

I am declining your unblock request because it does not address the reason for your block, or because it is inadequate for other reasons. To be unblocked, you must convince the reviewing administrator(s) that

  • the block is not necessary to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia, or
  • the block is no longer necessary because you
    1. understand what you have been blocked for,
    2. will not continue to cause damage or disruption, and
    3. will make useful contributions instead.

Please read the guide to appealing blocks for more information. Yamla (talk) 12:25, 29 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. Request reason:

The reason why I was blocked was because I edited Van Badham's page to include that she was a militant feminist. I understand the block and will not cause further damage and/or disruptions to the subject's page. My contributions will continue to be useful, as they have been throughout the last two decade - I invite the administrator to examine the many articles - mainly on music and musicians - I have contributed. • It took you two shorter blocks and the current indef block to cause you to understand the reason for the block. For what reason should I believe that you now understand, and how can we be assured you will not act similarly with another article in the future? 331dot (talk) 08:47, 30 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I understand why I was blocked and I swear that I will not be disruptive in future. I wish to get back to improving my articles on musical instruments. I beg that this indefinite block be lifted because I have learnt from my error.

Decline reason:

Since you asked the reviewing admin to review your past contributions, I've done just that. Lots of personal rants. Since you pointed to those contributions as "useful", I don't think you quite understand the purpose of Wikipedia. Huon (talk) 15:32, 11 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
