Since I didn't do it before, I'd like to thank you for adding the pictures to the Wells Regional Transportation Center. I wish more people(including myself) had more photos of railroad stations they could upload. ---- DanTD 15:24, 29 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm[edit]

I am sorry that you find my edit to be un wikipedia worthy, but I think you are missing the point.

You see, I put that statement into the article to add some laughs for everyone. Even an encyclopedia needs some humor. Would you agree? --65.18.12.61 (talk) 17:23, 16 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Television stubs[edit]

I just left a message at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Categories regarding the category tree for this. For some reason in the sub-categories for Category:Television stubs is Category:Publishing company stubs and its sub-categories; my bot scraped the parent category & sub-categories - and surprise! Hopefully we'll get some good action/advice from the Categories Project. I've stopped the bot for now & will do a new database scrape without some of the subcategories for now. Class II "list" versus template "US class II"[edit]

I was updating another Class II railroad and noticed that {{US class 2}} redirects to {{US class II}}, so I was "cleaning up" and eliminating the redirects from a few common pages, and the railroads in Southern Alaska and Northern Ohio.

When I came across the List of U.S. Class II railroads, I noticed that the list article and template {{US class II}} were/are not in synchronization.

So actually, I added a reporting mark "PAR" on the LINE AFTER Pan American. There were/are a few "reporting marks" in the template "US class II" which were/are not in the list, as well as a few in the list not in the template {{US class II}}.

My intent of adding the ones which are in the template to the list was/is to see if anyone could point out which should be added or removed from either the list or template. LeheckaG (talk) 18:52, 11 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Is there an "authoritative" (government, professional association, ...) source for determining the Class I/II/III status of a North American (U.S. or Canadian) railroad? I understand the Class distinctions have to do with annual revenues, and then a whole bunch of other government regulatory requirements as a result. LeheckaG (talk) 19:53, 11 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The AAR may have that info somewhere on their web site; it might take some digging to find it, though.

Thanks/Sorry/Question...[edit]

Thanks for being so polite regarding the nottion of edits when I do so on pages. Why are you so polite/professional when sending notes but others (Asher196) aren't? I feel this other person has a lot to learn about "people skills". How do you become an Administrator if you lack common human relation skills? Anyway, maybe you can help me with a question regarding the use of copyrighted images. I recently uploaded images from automobile brochures "wonderful, super-perfect human being", Asher196, deleted. Ok, "copyrighted by the auto manufacturers", I get it. What I don't fully understand is the "fair use" section. If I answer all 10 of the conditions, is it appropriate to use these pictures?? I forgot to add: I'm not sure where to find references for the "Fleetwood Brougham" articles as they are from my personal knowledge and info gained from reading the brochures over the years. WP:PipeOrgan needs you![edit]

Hi everyone.

In case you haven't spotted it, Pipe organ is a featured article candidate. If any of you can lend a hand to address the concerns, the WikiProject PipeOrgan would be indebted to you. The article itself is in pretty good shape, there are some concerns about the referencing at the moment, so if you have any reliable sources that may be useful, please have a look at the article.

Many thanks, –MDCollins (talk) 00:47, 14 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Cameron Carpenter former name[edit]

On Cameron's site is his biography, indicating that he sang on Joe Jackson's CD "Night Music" at a young age. He was credited as "Taylor Carpenter" for his work on that album. There are also several videos on youtube early in his performance career when he still went by the name "Taylor". An alumni newsletter indicates that he was still using the name "Taylor" during his US tour in 2003. That's all I can tell you, I'm afraid...I haven't found an "official" statement indicating when and why he changed names. WholeNote68 (talk) 22:13, 27 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Two Brunswick Station Pages[edit]

I was looking at Brunswick Maine Street Station and Brunswick (Amtrak station), to see what the difference was seeing that they are both about the same thing. Finding no differences I would suggest that they be merged (i.e. Brunswick (Amtrak Station) redirects to Brunswick Maine Street Station). 1) Do you think that is a good idea? 2) Is that something you or I could do (as I am not always sure of the best way to merge pages). Some Food for thought... --Bubblecuffer (talk) 12:25, 13 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Personally I don't have any objection to merging those two articles. I believe the proper procedure is this: we put a note at the top of both articles stating that it has been proposed that the two articles be merged, and that people who agree or disagree can comment on the talk page. If after a week or so there is consensus that a merge is appropriate, we can go ahead and perform the merge. Sound good? —BMRR (talk) 17:17, 13 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds Good, I think it would make the most sense to merge the two.--Bubblecuffer (talk) 21:12, 13 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I'll go ahead and put the merge notices on the articles. Leaving them up for a week should suffice, assuming that there isn't any controversy (and I highly doubt there will be!). —BMRR (talk) 00:50, 14 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

BMLRR[edit]

I am gathering from your user page that you are in Maine and are interested in the B&MLRR. If you are not already familiar with it, you may find my extensive online history of the old "Broken & Mended" of interest. I spotted you because of an edit you just made on the MEC page which I watch. (Do I know you outside of Wikipedia? Check my user page to see if you know me.) I see we also have quite a few interests in common besides railroads (click on the links on my user page to see my railroad sites.) I have been using Apples/Macs exclusively since 1981. I am interested in digital photography and do digital image restoration professionally. (My brother-in-law is also a "Nikon nut") I am also interested in pipe organs (I have a 3 rank M.P. Moller chapel organ built in 1936 in my living room).

I have always loved the Waldo-Hancock Bridge which I crossed many, many times heading into or out of Bucksport and also photographed often both before and after it was closed.. (I am also a direct descendent of Col. Jonathan Buck after whom the town is named.) While I live in Pennsylvania, I have had family in Waldo County since 1759 when my first ancestor to live there, Lt. Joshua Treat arrived from Boston to be the Armourer at Ft. Pownell in Stockton and his family (my grandmother was a Treat) have been prominent citizens in Stockton, Frankfort, Winterport, Searsport, and Belfast ever since. I also have another ancestor who was the captain of one of the ships lost in the ill-fated Penobscot Expedition at Castine in 1779. I have vacationed in Belfast annually for decades and am there now through the end of July. Cheers (Centpacrr (talk) 01:31, 24 June 2009 (UTC))[reply]

  • PS: I just realized that your username must refer to the Boston & Maine and not the Belfast & Moosehead Lake (which the MEC operated under lease as its Belfast Branch from 1870 to December 31, 1925) but you may still be interested in my B&ML page nonetheless. :=) (Centpacrr (talk) 03:36, 24 June 2009 (UTC))[reply]

Thank you for the kind words about my PTM map. One of the best things about retirement is the time it has given me to explore a long-time interest in cartography. It is especially good to hear from another downeasterner. Thewellman (talk) 05:15, 30 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I just noticed your school bus interest, and thought I would share a story about growing up in rural Maine. The town provided bus transport through high school and hired a wonderful old down-easterner to drive the town bus. The driver had a heart of gold but maintained a stern, quiet exterior to defend himself from the pranks of his youthful passengers. Every afternoon he would depart the high school with an overflow load of students exuberant at their recent release from classroom restraints. The old manual transmission bus had to negotiate a mile-long grade with a full load requiring a difficult downshift before the summit. The decreasing frequency of engine and drive-train vibration was barely audible despite the 40 student voices shouting to be heard. As the frequency approached the critical value requiring downshift, the voices suddenly hushed in anticipation. The students knew their driver missed the shift about once a week, and the stream of expletives precipitated by such failure might increase their vocabulary. Student voices resumed full volume following the downshift with great merriment if the driver's response had been particularly emphatic or with a brief sound of collective disappointment when man triumphed over machine. It was the most anticipated event of the whole school day. Thewellman (talk) 06:38, 30 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Talk page archive[edit]

{{helpme}} How do I create an archive of my talk page messages?

Thanks! --BMRR (talk) 17:53, 28 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There are several ways of doing this, but the most common is, create the page User talk:BMRR/Archive 1, make the first line {{talkarchivenav}} (which makes an appropriate header). Then, just cut things from this page, and paste it in. At the top of this page, add {{archive box|auto=yes}}, which will then provide a link to the archive.
Give it a whirl, and if you have problems, just ask for help. It's also possible to set up automatic archiving of stuff that is more than xxx days old; if you want, I can set that up for you - drop me a note on my own talk page. Cheers!  Chzz  ►  18:11, 28 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Auto archive[edit]

Hi,

I've set up this page for auto-archiving, for messages over 90 days old.

Normally, I prefer to explain how to do stuff, but in the case of archive set-up, it's easier to just do it for you. The voodoo to make it work is here; the bot should come along within about a day and kick things off. Note the archive box at the top which, currently, will say "no archives yet (create)" - don't create anything, just let the bot do its thing.

Note that a) it won't archive very small threads or things with no sigs in (ie no date) - you can cut those yourself and paste 'em into the archive page if you want.

So - that's about it; no action required, just let the bot do its thing, and - if I've done it correctly - all should be well. If it goes wrong, of course, give me a shout. Cheers!  Chzz  ►  17:37, 29 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

P.S. A great starting-point for finding help is The Missing Manual. The other top-tip is, talk to helpers live, with this link  Chzz  ►  17:40, 29 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Question about uploading a new version of an image[edit]

{{helpme}} Yesterday I uploaded a new version of this image. However, the page that uses that image is still displaying the old version, rather than the new version. Did I do it wrong? The new version shows up on the image page itself, but doesn't show up in the article. Thanks, BMRR (talk) 04:22, 29 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You did just fine. It looks like some kind of software bug. I was going to blame it on your browser, but when it did it to me, well, that's another thing.
I caused a purge of the image and article by modified the edit URLs like so: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wells,_Maine&action=purge and http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=File:Official_seal_of_town_of_wells_maine.jpg&action=purge - very very occasionally, MediaWiki gets stuck, but there is this manual work-around. Your article was deleted before I ever had a chance to see it, therefore making it impossible for me to have "stolen" any of its content. Historical Service at the Portland Jetport[edit]

User:BMRR, darling, I'm aware that parts of it are there twice. What I was attempting to explain was that I have been turning that list into prose form so that it flows with the article, as per the article's Good article re-assessment but it is unfinished. If you would like to help translate the rest of the list into the article, and bring the article back up to Good Article status, please feel free to help. I will concede to you that having the list of historical service along with the article is redundant, but I felt as if that is a question of clarity. I understand that it is probably better to have it only once, it is just my worry that the prose version of historical service is not very clear. As soon as we finish integrating the list into the article, feel free to delete it, but for now, I would be hesitant to get rid of it.
Bkissin (talk) 00:29, 14 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
P.S. As I'm sure you've gotten from other editors, you can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar, so try and be a little nicer when dealing with other editors.

Please take a look at this revision of the article, and scroll down to the Historical Service section. You'll see that there were two identical copies of the list. All I did was remove one of them. I apologize if I stepped on your toes, but I still don't understand why we would need to have two copies of that list, one on top of the other. –BMRR (talk) 00:37, 14 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'm so sorry. I must not have noticed the duplication when looking at the differences in the edit history. You are completely right, my mistake. Sorry about that. You are completely right, we only need one copy of the list. When I first saw the edit, I assumed that you had deleted the list altogheter, suggesting that the redundancy was in the article, but now I understand. I'm glad we got that miscommunication resolved.

Bkissin (talk) 02:49, 14 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'm glad we were able to clear that up! :-) –BMRR (talk) 03:25, 14 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Reviewer granted[edit]

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. –xenotalk 01:17, 17 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

That's fine, as long as you can find and include a reliable source for it. The reason I removed it was because no sources were given. Thanks, BMRR (talk) 23:23, 30 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Wow[edit]

Okay, you would be reason number 10,432 why Wikipedia is unreliable, my post on the Steven Slater page has nothing to do with a classic "I don't like it" argument, I could actually care less. Now, with this info, I will be starting pages of random people I know, and when ignorant people like yourself say, "Well this doesn't belong on Wikipedia", I will win the argument because I will site "I don't like this" argument. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.151.54.237 (talk)

All you said was that it didn't "deserve" to be an article. You gave no reason why. You didn't cite any Wikipedia policies to back yourself up. I stand by my comment regarding WP:IDONTLIKEIT. Please, feel free to knock yourself out by creating bogus articles. They'll just get deleted, and you'll probably get blocked from editing if you do it often enough. I'm glad you were able to improve the article. It's much better now. Can you explain what you meant when you advised me to be more careful in the future? I'm not sure what you mean by that. Thanks, BMRR (talk) 00:30, 28 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
You are welcome. Please search online for possible sources before you propose deletion. Look at Google, or Google books or news or scholar, or Bing, if you prefer. If there are some possibly good sources, consider tagging it, or sending to WP:AfD, instead of Prodding it. Schools, places, and state or national politicians are usually presumed to be notable, so err on the side of caution. Musicians, unreleased records, local politicians, and college teachers, for example, are not per se notable. I also have my own standards. I hope that is helpful. Thanks again. Orphaned non-free image File:Combos logo.jpg[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Combos logo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk 04:03, 17 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, First off, I want to congratulate you on the fine work you have done on Wikipedia, particularly related to Maine-related topics. Too many Wikipedians such as yourself, put in hard work and do a great job and too many go unthanked, so --Hugh Manatee (talk) 20:26, 28 January 2011 (UTC)realize that your edits are noticed and appreciated. On another note, I am working on creating a top quality Neighborhoods of Portland, Maine article, which is currently located here. If you want to contribute to it, I would greatly appreciate the help. Thanks and keep up the good work.--TM 04:10, 29 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! Thank you for your kind words. It is nice to know that my efforts have not gone unnoticed. I spend the majority of my time on Wikipedia cleaning up vandalism. I would rather devote that time to other tasks, but the vandals never stop! I will definitely take a look at the neighborhoods article, and will attempt to help in any way I can. Thank you for thinking of me, and best of luck with the article and with everything else you're doing to improve Wikipedia! –BMRR (talk) 18:20, 29 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Western Cemetery (Portland, Maine)[edit]

Hi there, I noticed you have been adding picture of Portland, which is great. I am currently away from Maine but will be back soon and hope to put up more self-shot pictures. Another suggestion[edit]

Hi there, the edit war at the Maine governor's election is very unfortunate. It is too bad that editors from away are pushing an agenda without any knowledge of the election other than the results. It is quite frustrating. Anyway, I just started Linda Bean and I'd love to expand it. There is a lot of recent information about her because of her recent business expansions. Any help you can give is greatly appreciated.--TM 01:55, 12 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I protected the userpage in line with the guidelines for dealing with the pages of deceased Wikipedians. Unfortunately, the consensus is that the user talk pages are not protected as stated at Wikipedia:PROT#Deceased_users. This was as a result of a discussion a couple of years back. The messages regarding image licences etc could be helpful to anyone who watches the page and might be able to fix them for example. As such I can't protect the page. Thomas HDX Cat Power[edit]

The Thomas HDX has had an option for a cat c7 (3126) engine up till 2009 at which cat stopped making on road engines for emission reasons. I ride a Thomas HDX with a Cat c7 everyday. Here are a few ads for HDX's with the cat c7 engine option:

http://www.schoolbuscentral.com/gallery/updates/jun06/th/05_05hdx_nv.htm http://www.schoolbusland.com/thomas/tz52.htm http://www.bargainbusnews.com/Buses/2872-2004ThomasSafe-T-Liner/ http://busweb.awardspace.us/archives/ky1/arch/kyoweni_603.htm

Please review these and see for yourself. My county has over 800 Thomas HDX busses and 70% of them are Cat powered. AND!!! They also came with an option of a CNG John Deere engine (http://p2pays.org/ref/37/36022.pdf)! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.96.121.10 (talk) 21:56, 25 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

That's great, but the section of the article you were editing is about the versions of the HDX and EF currently offered by Thomas, not the discontinued versions that they offered in the past. Cat doesn't make the C7 anymore, as you know, so clearly there is no way it could be an option on current HDX or EF buses.
At any rate, thanks for taking the time to explain what you were trying to do, and in the future, please remember to provide an edit summary before saving your edits. I would also recommend familiarizing yourself with Wikipedia's Reliable Source policies. Thanks, BMRR (talk) 23:17, 25 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Threatened deletion[edit]

It appears you have recently added a tag to Energy Direct, stating that article "is likely to be merged, redirected, or deleted". Can you please explain why? Perhaps a comment on that article's talk page would be appropriate. On that talk page, it is clear that the question of notability was raised and addressed in 2009. Thank you. --Pakaraki (talk) 07:01, 16 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article didn't have any references, therefore notability was not established. Since you've added some references (thank you!), feel free to remove the notability tag. –BMRR (talk) 15:32, 16 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
OK. Since there are many reasons why an article might be considered to be not notable, it might be less ambiguous to use the unreferenced tag, or to use the article's talk page to clarify why it might be not notable. That way, it would be clear to other editors what changes you are suggesting. Thanks. --Pakaraki (talk) 18:56, 16 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Re your recent concerns [2] [3]:

  • The statement that Gomes was raised Baptist but later baptized Catholic was in the article as I found it, and as you might have seen from my comments embedded in the markup, didn't sound right. I assume you listened to enough of the Colbert interview to be sure that the reverse (Catholic to Baptist, so to speak) is indeed correct?
  • The "death" section I meant to move somewhere else in the article, but accidentally dropped it completely. The article is an awful mess of unconnected and duplicative stuff (and was even worse before -- there's still much work to be done) and while I'm very careful, I'm not surprised that something got lost as I tried to bring order out of chaos.

If you have an interest in Gomes, then you know he was a very special man. I can improve the quality of the article's writing, but it's missing stuff I'm not qualified to add: real meat about his theological writings, his advocacy, the excellence of his sermonizing (examples would be great), and so on. If you can add anything like that it would help make the article worthy of him, which it certainly isn't now. Thanks. EEng (talk) 01:18, 2 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Good evening! Yes, I watched the Colbert interview in its entirety, and coupled with the fact that Rev. Gomes was an American Baptist minister, my assumption was that he went from being Catholic to Baptist, not Baptist to Catholic. I suppose it's possible that his parents initially raised him as a Baptist, then the entire family converted to Catholicism and he was baptized as a Catholic, and then he converted back to Baptist later in life... but I can't find any source for that, and it does seem unlikely. Regarding the death section, no problem; these things happen. There's still much that I don't know about Rev. Gomes, but I've always found him fascinating, and I loved to listen to him speak — his voice is nearly identical to that of a teacher I had in high school. I could listen to him for hours. So sad that Rev. Gomes passed far too soon. –BMRR (talk) 01:47, 2 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free rationale for File:Hannaford dijon mustard.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Hannaford dijon mustard.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 21:36, 17 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

While edit summaries are not strictly mandatory, they are strongly encouraged and there's generally no valid reason not to provide one before saving your edits. Additionally, if a user deletes content from articles without providing some sort of explanation, this is considered disruptive editing and may result in the user being blocked from editing. –BMRR (talk) 21:59, 12 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Your input is requested at WikiProject Maine![edit]

Hello fellow WikiProject Maine members!

I'm trying to breathe a little new life into WP:WP ME and as such I have posted a few questions on the project's talk page that I would like to get some feedback from all of the project's members on!
  1. There are apparently a lot of inactive members on our participants list (and even a user that has been blocked for years). What do we as a project want to do about inactive or blocked users? I have some ideas on the issue, but would love feedback from others.
    • Remove blocked users that appear to be no longer interested in participating in developing Wikipedia.
    • Users with zero activity at all in three years are unlikely to come back. I suggest that we remove them from the mailing list and deactivate any categorizing feature of a userbox on their page. When doing this, we must make sure to leave a note on their talk page explaining that since they have been off-wiki for three years that they have been removed from the list as a purely technical measure and they are more than welcome to add themselves back to the list if they choose to start editing again.
    • Users with zero activity on wiki for 18 months may come back, despite it being unlikely. I would suggest that we mark those users as inactive on our mailing list, and stop sending them messages like this one to prevent their user talk page from filling up with irrelevant notices.
    • Users with zero activity on wiki for at least six months should be marked as inactive in the mailing list template, but should still receive mailings.
  2. I'm also trying to gauge some interest in there being a Great American Wikinic in Maine! If you are interested, possible locations might include Portland, Augusta, and or Bangor, please make a note in the appropriate section on our talk page!
  3. We should create a template to use for mass mailings from this wikiproject so all we need to do is enter our message and signature and the general format of the box and image and title and stuff will stay familiar. What is your opinion on this idea? Do you have any preferences to what that may look like (because I think this looks horrible compared to some I've seen from other projects)?

GE Genesis Correction[edit]

I'm the one who you think got something wrong on the GE Genesis page. Well, what I said was true. I can prove to you that some of the Genesis were built for the New Haven Railroad. Look up images of them and see what I was talking about. You should see photos GE Genesis painted in the red, white, and black New Haven paint scheme. I don't know how to send you one. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.111.61.55 (talk) 04:41, 6 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I've seen the pictures many times, so no need to send me one, but thanks anyway. The Genesis locomotives that are painted in the New Haven paint scheme are owned by Metro-North. The original New Haven railroad had gone out of business many years before GE started building the Genesis series. Some of Metro-North's Genesis locomotives were painted in the New Haven paint scheme as a way of honoring the past and because it was such a popular and recognizable paint scheme. I hope this helps to clarify things. —BMRR (talk) 12:58, 6 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, okay. That makes sense. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.111.61.55 (talk) 15:19, 6 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Wiki Loves Pride 2016[edit]

As a participant of WikiProject LGBT studies, you are invited to participate in the third annual Wiki Loves Pride campaign, which runs through the month of June. The purpose of the campaign is to create and improve content related to LGBT culture and history. How can you help?

  1. Create or improve LGBT-related Wikipedia pages and showcase the results of your work here
  2. Document local LGBT culture and history by taking pictures at pride events and uploading your images to Wikimedia Commons
  3. Contribute to an LGBT-related task force at another Wikimedia project (Wikidata, Wikimedia Commons, Wikivoyage, etc.)

Looking for topics? The Tasks page, which you are welcome to update, offers some ideas and wanted articles.

This campaign is supported by the Wikimedia LGBT+ User Group, an officially recognized affiliate of the Wikimedia Foundation. The group's mission is to develop LGBT-related content across all Wikimedia projects, in all languages. Visit the affiliate's page at Meta-Wiki for more information, or follow Wikimedia LGBT+ on Facebook. Remember, Wiki Loves Pride is about creating and improving LGBT-related content at Wikimedia projects, and content should have a neutral point of view. One does not need to identify as LGBT or any other gender or sexual minority to participate. This campaign is about adding accurate, reliable information to Wikipedia, plain and simple, and all are welcome! If you have any questions, please leave a message on the campaign's talk page.

Thanks, and happy editing! ---Another Believer (Talk) 19:49, 30 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
