Orphaned non-free media (File:The Great Canadian Appathon Logo 2012.png)[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:The Great Canadian Appathon Logo 2012.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:26, 23 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you.

A tag has been placed on Great Canadian Appathon, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an acceptable page. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item G11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this page is not blatant advertising, . Clicking that button will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. You are welcome to edit the page to fix this problem, but please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. As well as removing promotional phrasing, it helps to add factual encyclopaedic information to the page, and add citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the page will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. 99.136.254.88 (talk) 21:04, 13 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not certain whether this will be speedy deleted. Nonetheless, it seems consistent with a lot of your editing here, that is to say overtly promotional, laden with unreliable or primary sources, and possibly including some copyright violations. I'd suggest you read Wikipedia guidelines, among which are WP:NPOV, WP:COPYPASTE, WP:RELIABLE, WP:ADVERT and WP:COI if you intend to continue editing. Thank you, 99.136.254.88 (talk) 21:04, 13 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

February 2013[edit]

Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to Ray Sharma. While objective prose about beliefs, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. Bbb23 (talk) 22:54, 14 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Your whole purpose at Wikipedia appears to be promoting Sharma and material related to Sharma. I don't know who you are and what connection you have with Sharma, but in the future, I suggest you propose any changes on the article talk pages rather than directly edit the articles. See WP:COI.--Bbb23 (talk) 22:57, 14 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
    • I agree with the above statement. Qworty (talk) 05:29, 15 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
    • i will do my best in the future to avoid such promotional content,
      • The purpose of Wikipedia is not to "help people interested in pursuing a career in the video game industry." Please have a look at WP:NOT for a list of things which Wikipedia is not. Your edits have been removed by various editors who are following various Wikipedia policies, not by people trying to delete all your "hard work." Qworty (talk) 19:03, 15 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
    • I understand, I am very interested in contributing to wikipedia on a factual basis, I made some major mistakes in the content I added, I have revisited the wiki rules page. I will do my best to adhere to the wiki rules and learn from my mistakes. your feedback is appreciated and i understand you are only trying to keep wikipedia a quality resource. I am sorry, i will learn from this experience and do my best to be a legitimate contrubitor. any feedback is appreciated, As with anything in life, practise makes perfect and learn from your mistakes Awoods88 (talk) 19:30, 15 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
      • You do realize that everyone can see you're a WP:SPA, right? Qworty (talk) 20:57, 15 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
      • Everyone has to start somewhere. As I said my interests lie in the video game industry, I am just starting out as a wiki contributor, thus why my first contributions weren't up to par with the communities expectations of writing style and as I have a knowledge base in video games I started there. Awoods88 (talk) 21:05, 15 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
      • I realize i need to branch out and contribute to other articles, other topics etc to gain credibility and to prove that not a single purpose account. Rome wasn't built in a day.

Your answers lack credibility, particularly given the fact that you again recreated the Great Canadian Appathon article, even though it had been speedily deleted for being overly promotional. Consider this a final warning. If you persist in creating inappropriate pages on Wikipedia, you may be blocked.--Bbb23 (talk) 00:10, 16 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Why would The Great Canadian Appathon not be allowed to have a wiki page if it followed the wiki rules and regulations?Awoods88 (talk) 15:59, 19 February 2013 (UTC) Im allowed to create "appropriate pages" within the wikipedia rules and regulations and I will create an appropriate page for the Great Canadian Appathon that adheres to the rules Awoods88 (talk) 20:13, 19 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
