Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing because of the following problems: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group or a web site, which is against the username policy.

You may request a change of name and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions other than promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 19:47, 6 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Hello. Following Wikipedia's Wikipedia:Conflict of interest (COI) editing and Wikipedia:Username policy, I need to disclose that Ocado Group is who I work for/my employer. So, I have put this in my username. If I create a new username - in order to be unblocked - which doesn't disclose this information, I am not complying with the Wikipedia:Conflict of interest (COI) editing and Wikipedia:Username policy. Please advise? I will change username and make my employment info & possible COI clear on my user page, if this is a good solution? Thanks, Ashleigh

Accept reason:

Per discussion below, unblocking. GeneralNotability (talk) 18:54, 24 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

(non-admin closure) Hello, your username seems to comply with the username policy. The problem lies in promoting your business or organization. Please read the guide to learn how to appeal this type of block. Enjoy your day! Mr. Heart (talk) 15:20, 24 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Jimfbleak, this doesn't look like a UPOL vio - X at YCorp is normally acceptable. Agree that the deleted page was G11 material, but I don't think that merits an immediate block. Do you want the block to stand? GeneralNotability (talk) 15:55, 24 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
HeartatSchool From reading the COI page, I believe I can still edit and create pages to do with my company and industry (online retail)? To update and make these more accurate? Which is my goal - not to 'promote' the company, but to have the correct info on here about my company and online retail. That was why I built a new page with lots of credible news sources. But my request was denied. Happy to take your advice as experienced editors on how I can fully disclose my intentions and edit on here in line with best practice? GeneralNotability, I've seen worse, and happy for you to unblock if you wish, since there's clearly some effort to conform. I think it should be made clear that this user must not move the text out of draft space themselves because of the COI, must wait for a reviewer, cheers Jimfbleak - talk to me? 16:46, 24 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
GeneralNotability User:Jimfbleak Thanks very much. Honestly aiming to conform and be collaborative. Happy for any edits I propose to go through a reviewer, and not move them out of draft space myself. How do I do this? Do I tag another editor, such as yourselves?Ashleigh at Ocado Group 17:13, 24 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Ashleigh at Ocado Group, unblocked. You will need to submit drafts through Articles for Creation, and if you want changes to existing articles relating to your conflict of interest, you should request the edits on the talk page. I recommend reading our plain and simple conflict of interest guide. GeneralNotability (talk) 18:56, 24 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

March 2021[edit]

Information icon Hi Ashleigh at Ocado Group! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at Ocado Group that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia – it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. --Renat 21:59, 13 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

User:RenatUK Thanks a lot for the heads up! I'll be sure to comply with this at all times. Best. Ashleigh at Ocado Group 09:42, 18 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ocado Group[edit]

As mentioned previously on your talk page by GeneralNotability (talk · contribs), "if you want changes to existing articles relating to your conflict of interest, you should request the edits on the talk page". Your edits to the article of Ocado Group are a conflict of interest and you should not edit the article directly, but request edits to the article via the article talk page. -- Longhair\talk 11:33, 12 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
