Welcome to Wikipedia![edit]

Dear Asabi: welcome to Wikipedia, a free and open-content encyclopedia. I hope you enjoy contributing. To help get you settled in, I thought you might find the following pages useful:

Don't worry too much about being perfect. Very few of us are! Just in case you are not perfect, click here to see how you can avoid making common mistakes.

If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user talk (discussion) page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. A third option is to ask a more experienced user such as an administrator.

One last bit of advice: please sign any discussion comment with four tildes (~~~~). The software will automatically convert this into your signature which can be altered in the "Preferences" tab at the top of the screen. I hope I have not overwhelmed you with information. If you need any help just let me know. Once again welcome to Wikipedia, and don't forget to tell us about yourself and be BOLD!

A tag has been placed on Asabi Elizabeth Goodman, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (below the existing db tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. SatyrTN (talk | contribs) 06:04, 26 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

April 2023[edit]

Information icon Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions; however, it appears you may have written a Wikipedia article, or a draft for a Wikipedia article, about yourself, at Asabi Goodman. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – please see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to or change an existing article about yourself, you are welcome to propose the changes by visiting the article's talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was the page I created deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss this with the deleting administrator. Thank you. Thank you for your message, however, I strongly disagree. I understand why Wikipedia strongly discourages people from creating articles about themselves, but if the article is nothing but factual not full of flourish, I don't see why it's a problem. As I'm already mentioned on notable articles, I felt it necessary to create an article for myself (I don't feel it's necessary to pay someone to do it for me, which is what usually happens). Thank you for your concern. A. E. Goodman (talk) 10:29, 24 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, Asabi. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 04:56, 24 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Asabi,
Over the past 17 years, you have made several attempts to write an article about yourself. Until there are reliable, independent, secondary sources that can establish your notability, you will not have an article in the main space of the project. You shouldn't pay someone to write an article about you but neither should you write one yourself. But as a very educated person, Wikipedia could really use your contributions on subjects that you have a deep knowledge of. Please consider contributing to articles on subjects other than yourself.
If you have questions, please bring them to the Teahouse. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 05:02, 24 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
