Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. The following links will help you begin editing on Wikipedia:

Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia

The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! Information icon Please refrain from making test edits in Wikipedia pages, such as those you made to Lagarfljót Worm ‎, even if you intend to fix them later. Your edits do not appear to be constructive and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment again, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Epeefleche (talk) 23:02, 21 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Corsi ‎. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been reverted or removed.

  • If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor then please discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page. Alternatively you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant notice boards.
  • If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, please seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive, until the dispute is resolved through consensus. Continuing to edit disruptively could result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Epeefleche (talk) 23:04, 21 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Ameliaelizabethliggett: I have tagged the file you uploaded, File:Lagarfljót Worm.jpg, as a copyvio. It appears to be taken from the video at this page: http://www.ruv.is/frett/er-thetta-lagarfljotsormurinn , and you have not given any indication of permission to use the image. It is not simple geometry as your use rationale states. Please do not upload images found on the internet to Wikipedia unless you are the owner of the image or it is stated to not be copyright. It is a common misunderstanding that because something is online, it must be ok to copy it, but because Wikipedia is free use - all images and text here can be copied by someone else anywhere - we cannot include things that are copyrighted or restricted, and publications, even online, are normally copyrighted. Here's a fuller explanation; note the section on images: Wikipedia:FAQ/Copyright. Yngvadottir (talk) 04:31, 22 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome[edit]

Hello, Ameliaelizabethliggett! Welcome to Wikipedia! It appears that you are here to participate in a class project. If you haven't done so already, we highly encourage you to go through our training page that's specifically created and catered for students such as yourself:

If you need help, check out Wikipedia's page for questions. You can also ask me by visiting my user talk page and leaving a message, or you can ask your question on this page by editing it and placing {{Help me}} before your question. Please make sure that you sign your messages on discussion pages, which is done by entering four tildes (~~~~) at the very end of it; this will automatically insert your username and the date. I also highly recommend that you review the advice for students page.

Before you create an article, make sure that you understand what kind of articles are accepted here. Remember: Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and while many topics are encyclopedic, some things are not.

Your instructor or professor may wish to set up a course page, and if your class doesn't already have one, please tell your instructor about creating one. It is highly recommended that you place this text: {{Educational assignment}} on the talk page of any articles you are working on as part of your Wikipedia-related course assignment. This will let other editors know that the article is a subject of an educational assignment as well as aid your communication with them.

Here are some more pages that you might find helpful:

While editing:

We hope you like it here and encourage you to stay with us as a member of the community - even after your assignment is finished. Your time, energy, and your contributions will be highly valued and appreciated among us.
