Hi, Dr Simon Tayor is a reader in Celtic and Gaelic at Glasgow University and considered one of the foremost medieval historians in Scotland. You are correct that his book is dealing with toponymy but he sets out the history of each parish in Fife from primary sources. His five volume collection on Fife is considered to be the most detailed history of the county ever undertaken. A quick phone call to the history departments of any Scottish University would confirm. Hi Mutt Thanks for keeping me right. I have clearly a long way to go before I understand the complexities of the Wikipedia system. I suppose that I have to tick the "watch this page" box in order to draw the attention of those who have previously contributed to the entry whilst a tick in the the "minor change" box is only picked up randomly.
