Spelling differences[edit]

Please don't change from American to British spelling without good reason, especially calling it a spelling "correction" afterwards. Both versions are correct, and in order to change from one to the other there should be a better reason than simply the fact that you like it better "your" way. If everyone changed everything to the spelling of their regional dialect then we'd never be able to settle on anything. Thanks.

Forgive me I am new here (well, new to editing). I had not realised there was an alternative spelling of this word in American English. From my part of the world (Scotland), the word looked wrong and I boldly edited it in good faith putting the reason for the change. After checking I see that you are correct. Neighborhood is an alternative spelling of Neighbourhood within the Wiktionary (and other commercial alternatives ;-)). Apologies for any offence caused. That's all right, I was a bit hasty in assuming you knew about the alternate spelling. I apologize for that. I hope you like it here, despite this little misunderstanding -- and I hope to see more of your edits soon. Let me know if I can be of any help :) Happy editing -
