December 2023[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Deltaspace42. I noticed that you recently removed content from Tim Walker without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Hello, thank you for getting in touch. We noticed that your contribution had been added to Tim Walker's page, under the section 'Controversy' - and it's the first thing you come to when going to his page, featuring prominently above all the other sections about Tim Walker's career and achievements. This does not give a fair or accurate representation of Tim Walker's career - his work spans over 30 years, and for attention to be drawn to this recent situation with Zara feels very misrepresentative. He has no wish to court controversy. The Zara campaign was conceived back in July, and shot in mid-September.. and the creative idea for the set was a sculptor's studio. It's deeply unfortunate that the release of the pictures coincided with recent tragic world events, leading to some people to misinterpret the imagery. However none of that is the fault of Tim Walker and as such it seems very wrong for this controversy to feature so prominently on his Wikipedia entry, very much overshadowing the other information about his life and career. I hope you can see things from this perspective. Thank you, Alex Alex Pasley-Tyler (talk) 12:22, 19 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Point taken, thank you for making it. Section removed as per WP:UNDUE and the fact that the source doesn't mention the photographer other than in the image credit. (The reason it came above the lists is that prose sections appear before list sections.) As an editor with a suspected conflict of interest, if you wish to make changes then please suggest them on the talk page and disconnected editor(s) can assess whether or not they are valid. Thanks. -Lopifalko (talk) 12:38, 19 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
thank you - I really appreciate your understanding and swift removal. I have never used Wikipedia before so hadn't fully digested all of the conflict of interest guidance, but thank you for responding so swiftly and with such decency. Alex Pasley-Tyler (talk) 12:42, 19 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
