Some questions related to Geert Hofstede article[edit]

(Dont know if I should ask you for advise or post this in discussion)

In his books "Culture's Consequences"(2nd, fully revised edition, 2001) and Cultures and Organizations, Software of the Mind (2nd, revised edition 2005) Professor Hofstede, as stated in the article, identifies the five dimensions of culture. What I am a little confused about is that only two of the dimensions is represented in the article about Hofstede and his work. The other three links to other articles that deals with the same subjects, but not necessarily from Hofstedes perspectives. To make the confusion even worse, only 4 of the 5 dimensions has hyperlinks, whereas one of them links to the exactly same page the link is present in the first place. I think that someone (me?) ether should write more about Hofstedes perspectives and research on those dimensions on the Hofstede article, or remove those two that currently are present. (I didnt want to waste writing before checking with someone with a little more experience that I have, if you cant help me, maybe you can point me to someone who could?) —Bagdad-Bob

Spain[edit]

Hi, Accurizer. Hey, may I know why did you lifted the semiprotection in the Spain page? it has only been semiprotected for some three days or so and, now, the "penis", "homosexual", etc will return fast...I would semiprotect it again if you don't have a reason to unprotect. Thanks. Mountolive 17:47, 13 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wow, I didn't have any idea that the article wasn't protected...you know what? apparently the sole semiprotection warning seemed to have a deterring action and the usual "penis" vandalizing was not occurring lately. Anyway, I appreciate your feedback; I may request for protection, but I'm not sure. Thanks again Mountolive 18:11, 13 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Block[edit]

Hi. You gave several warnings to User:Lepercaun; I did a 24-hour block before you gave your last warning. Sorry to jump the gun. --ESP 21:24, 14 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Bot Username Schabot[edit]

This is my name, Steven Chabot. If Wikipedia feels like banning me because my parents are French-Canadian and it is pronounced "bow" then so be it. Schabot 17:49, 15 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Basic Questions[edit]

I have been contributing here and there for a while now, but a few things still befuddle me. For example, on one occasion, I had added an article on a school that I went to, put in what little information I had, hoping that maybe others who knew about it, etc. would add to it. Less than an hour later, it was deleted. I asked the question as to why, so I could do things right, and never got a response. What would have been a better way for me to handle this? I don't know much about American baseball, so it looks like I confused the so-called perfect game with a "no-hitter". I have restored the entry AND corrected it. --CalendarWatcher 22:01, 20 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Alansohn, did you mean to remove my addition of "or holds a verifiable record in such an activity" from the notability criteria or was that a mistake? I didn't think there were any objections to expanding the criteria in this way. Regards, Accurizer 11:37, 21 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • I have no idea why I would have reverted your change, but I am in full agreement regarding a verifiable record. It was removal of the 50-year standard that I had meant to reinstate. Sorry for any confusion. Alansohn 12:46, 21 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Who are you and why did you delete my Keep San Antonio Lame article?[edit]

Why is the Keep Austin Weird article OK and the Keep San Antonio Lame article not? As I indicated in my article the Keep San Antonio Lame movement has been documented by Texas Public Radio and the San Antonio Current. Its not a joke; its for real. Did you save my copy? Can I have it back? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mrnbg (talkcontribs)

Thank you for your support at RFA[edit]

I wasn't going to send thank-you cards, but the emotional impact of hitting WP:100 (and doing so unanimously!) changed my mind. So I appreciate your confidence in me at RFA, and hope you'll let me know if I can do anything for you in the future. Cheers! -- nae'blis 00:05, 29 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Bob the Builder[edit]

Thanks for catching the additional nonsense, you beat me to the punch. I'm not sure what gives with the weirdness on that particular article. Can't sleep, clown will eat me 12:05, 4 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Diocesan Infobox[edit]

To the Members of the WikiProject Catholicism

I have proposed at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Catholicism an infobox for Catholic Dioceses. I have not gotten any feedback on this proposal, so I’m culling feedback, advice, corrections, etc. for this. If you have the time, would you check out User:SkierRMH/Diocese_Infobox and give me some feedback! Thanks much!!

My RfA[edit]

I would like to take the time to thank you for voting in my unsuccessful RFA. Your constructive criticism on sppedy deletion helped remind me of a fact I often neglect; I should notify the original contributor when deleting. Have a nice day, and I apologize for the laggy response! -- Chris is me 05:02, 9 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Revert[edit]

Thanks for the revert on my userpage. Rettetast 16:22, 14 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,

You have put yourself as interested in helping out atWikiProject on user warnings. We are now at a stage where we are creating the new templates and are wondering if you are still interested? If so please visit the overview page and choose a warning type you wish to work on. There is a base template available here, which you can copy and use to get you started. Have a look through the redirects and see what old templates are affected and incorporate them into the the new system. Anyway, any questions please don't hesitate to give me a shout. Re: Thanks[edit]

Hey yeah. I posted a picture of President Eisenhower and it was removed. It's not vandalism. It's not nonsense. Why are you being an ass about it?(I obviously don't know how to post on a "talk" page though. Where do I put this?) —Preceding unsigned comment added by CreamyGnome (talkcontribs)

Excuse me?[edit]

What gave you the right to edit the World War I article? We (those involved in editing WWI) had already agreed in the discussion page that the USA would be excluded from the infobox because their importance is questionable. Therefore, I am going to revert your edits. Thanks, but no thanks. User:TheGoodSon

Thanks for the heads up about referencing the Pythagenpat page. I do have sources to back it up but I didn't have time last night to properly cite them and I wanted to get the information down. I will take care of it later today.Chocaholic 14:23, 30 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Safety Nazi[edit]

http://www.caranddriver.com/columns/3624/columns-patrick-bedard.html it should not be deleted, I updated a more direct link. If you object to the article because of the word nazi relize it is a coloquialism not a facism.
