License tagging for Image:A Love for the Arts.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:A Love for the Arts.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 05:05, 21 May 2007 (UTC)

Apple dear, the image you uploaded looks adorable. May I ask you for a favour? Google Chat, now, okay? PeaceNT 15:36, 21 May 2007 (UTC)

Hi Appleworm

This is User:Shindo9Hikaru and this is my alternate account for editing from public places. Seeing as I'm going on vacation soon, try contacting me through this account if you don't get any response from my main account. Thanks,:-)Shindothehikaru 04:01, 23 May 2007 (UTC) OH, because a user,(Can't think of name right now)made an account like this. Also, as stated above,I'm going on vacation. Plus, I don't want people to look over my shoulder while editing and see my real username, and I don't want to get hacked in case.:-)Shindothehikaru 04:07, 23 May 2007 (UTC)

Explanation?

Hi, Applewom, I wondered if you'd explain your reasoning at Wikipedia:Categories_for_discussion/Log/2007_May_14#Category:Spanish_language_novels and Wikipedia:Categories_for_discussion/Log/2007_May_14#Category:Spanish-language_writers, given you don't provide any on the CfD page itself. Thanks. --Jbmurray 07:17, 23 May 2007 (UTC)

Copied over from User talk:Jbmurray: Thanks for responding. Yes, I guess my problem is that it would have been good had someone addressed my points 1) that Category:Spanish language novels does not fit into Category:Media by language, or at least into the dominant definition of what's meant by "media." And 2) that for the purpose of Category:Writers by language, some languages are different from others. Hence I have no problem with the parent cats, as I made clear various times in the discussion.
I'm not going to contest the decision (I have better things to do with my time), but I would point out that in practice, with all the "per nom" or "per X" comments, CfD has become a vote, in which herd mentality (rather than an attempt to look at the issues) tends to prevail. It's another little Wikidisappointment. --Jbmurray 20:12, 23 May 2007 (UTC)
Copied over from User talk:Jbmurray: I think your answer provides further evidence that you'd have been better ruling "no consensus" on these two discussions. See WP:POLLS. But there we go. The same process continues, for instance at Wikipedia:Categories_for_discussion/Log/2007_May_20#Category:Flags_of_Nepal. Too often, a voting mentality prevails over the attempt to consider arguments and reach consensus. --Jbmurray 21:33, 24 May 2007 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with Image:A Love for the Arts.jpg

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:A Love for the Arts.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Please provide evidence of copyright licensing as well as I cannot find it.--Jusjih 02:32, 24 May 2007 (UTC)

Hey, sweet Apple, I added the copyright tag {{Attribution}} to the above image for you. I think this tag is the most appropriate one since you said that the author allowed usage for any purpose as long as attribution is properly mentioned. Hope you don't mind :) PeaceNT 10:01, 25 May 2007 (UTC)

It's more than possible this has been addressed, I need to look thoroughly at your archives and will soon. Just somewhat concerned because the content of Richard Perlmutter is taken without paraphrase from existing apparently (c) sites without evidence of permission (and this is material that could be paraphrased, so a fair use argument does not apply.) Went there only to add a {{DEFAULTSORT}} since it was turning up in the wrong place in a category, but was concerned on finding it. If you have the letter of permission and would be willing to present it, would be much pleased. Schissel | Sound the Note! 21:07, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

Phuong Mai

I disagree with your moving Phuong Mai back to Phuong Mai as opposed to Princess Phuong Mai of Vietnam. My reason is per Wikipedia:Naming conventions (names and titles): Use "Prince(ss) {first name} of ..." where a prince/ss has a territorial suffix by virtue of their parent's title, e.g., Prince William of Wales, Princess Beatrice of York, Prince Arthur of Connaught, etc. ... Since Phuong Mai was a princess at birth, and though the family has been deposed, she should still be known, ie the article title, Princess Phuong Mai of Vietnam. Or, at the very least, Princess Phuong Mai, following the usage established in, say, articles about members of the Japanese imperial family. No usage has been established per the former Vietnamese imperial house.66.82.9.92 22:59, 8 July 2007 (UTC)

I am very sorry, but i do not understand what you mean by vandalism, and i must say i fell insulted by that remark and could only see it as ignorance! You claim i vandalised the article of Emilie Högquist because i wrote that her weakness was her weak voice; and you also remowed the source i put there. The fact that Emilie had a weak voice was not an insult, it is a fact noted in Sweden, a fact she herself answered to by claiming that she "sounded like a chicken" and i think it is far from an insult to state both the good and bad things about a persons talents, as is necessary to give a neutral point vieuw to a subject. I am aware that the source i put to the article ar swedish and therefore not to help to you, but i am told that one should state the source one used to write the article, which i did, wheter ypu can read my language or not, especially since there is not much information i Englih about the subject. You also took away the latest input in my article Bollhuset, an article i myself started (!) in the first place, where i discribed the Swedish theatre history in the period of 1753-1771, facts that are stated in several Swedish reference-books. --Aciram 10:52, 28 July 2007 (UTC)

TXEQ

Hello @pple, Recently I've put a notice, in TXEQ article, that the information provided there is lie, and put it into Proposed for Deletion category. I didn't have much time, to search for a proper templates for this case and refer to wikipedia's rules, neither I spend much time in en:w to register in it. So I can understand, that technically it was inccorect from my side. But in fact, all information proviede by me was completely proper. So you could check information I provided, or at least, look through page log http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Log&page=TXEQ and see, that once that page was already deleted by User:Isotope23 After that vandals, decided to pretend that information is real article, not about a group of teens, but about secret, mistic hisorical order, so it's meeting wikipedia requirements, they've put links to articles, and fake external sources. Just try to google for that information, if you think an article created by a registred user is a truly one, and information given by an unregsitred user, is not. :) Best. --83.217.236.219 23:38, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
