February 2024[edit]

Information icon Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit(s) you made to Croissant, did not appear to be constructive and have been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use the sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. Actually it was, as it brought back the consensus version of Belbury, version anonymous IP cancelled 79.54.217.132 (talk) 00:30, 9 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The talk page shows no consensus whatsoever for the addition of Austria, and something approaching consensus against it. Feel free to go make your case there if you would like to change that. AntiDionysius (talk) 00:33, 9 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Actually there was consensus, until an anonymous IP (Xiaomichael?) changed it 79.54.217.132 (talk) 00:35, 9 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
What you're saying is simply not true...? Macrakis, Escape Orbit, Goralero and multiple different IP users were all in agreement that Austria should not be mentioned. Only one contributor, Woodlandscaley, was pro mentioning Austria. The consensus in favour of Austria that you keep mentioning does not exist. AntiDionysius (talk) 00:40, 9 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Phil Knight, Beldbury were not. So what you are saying it's blatantly false 79.54.217.132 (talk) 00:43, 9 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Neither of those users contributed to the discussion a single time. AntiDionysius (talk) 00:45, 9 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
They did contributed bringing back the article to the ORIGINAL version, the one that should stay until consensus is reached and motivated it. 79.54.217.132 (talk) 00:52, 9 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
They reverted edits; that's not a contribution to the discussion. For example, I personally don't have any views whatsoever on the content issue. I am telling you not to restore the mention of Austria not because I think that's correct, but because the consensus is clearly against you. I'm not part of that consensus.
You can keep asserting blindly that consensus doesn't exist or exists but is in your favour if you want, but it won't make it true. Please do not edit the page to restore your preferred version unless you can establish consensus on the talk page. Thanks. AntiDionysius (talk) 00:57, 9 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Edits shouldn't be made before the consensus is reached.
YOU said consensus didn't exist. You cannot say that it exists when it is convenient for you because you agree with it.
The pages had Austria before the anonymous IP changed it... 79.54.217.132 (talk) 01:00, 9 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
And since there is no consensus the previous version should stay 79.54.217.132 (talk) 00:44, 9 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The Source Larousse Gastronomique say they are from Italy. Stop trying to bend wikipedia to your whim or I will signal you as a vandal. Discuss it, isn't consensus the rule of wikipedia? 79.54.217.132 (talk) 13:48, 9 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Cornetto (pastry). This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Belbury (talk) 18:21, 9 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

1. I did use talk page but the other side refused to go further
2. The original had Italy, then it changed to Austria and Italy
3.In the light of how croissant page was changed, in a very suspicious way, I think Italy is more correct because cornetto is different from both kipfler and croissant
Can I ask you why didn't you say anything when the anonymous IP which started editing croissant started changing, WITHOUT ANY PREVIOUS DISCUSSION, the croissant page??? 79.54.217.132 (talk) 18:27, 9 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
