CPKC accident[edit]

Hey there, I saw you added content to CPKC Railway. I noticed some problems with it though, so I have removed it.

  1. It is unsourced. Please read WP:V, and WP:RS.
  2. "4-15-22" is not an acceptable date format per MOS:DATEFORMAT. Use something like "April 15, 2022" or "15 April 2022".
  3. Seeing as the accident happened BEFORE the merger, I believe it would be a better fit for Canadian Pacific. So if you cite your sources, I think you can readd it to that article instead.

I appreciate you tried to improve the encyclopedia though, thanks! A diehard editor (talk | edits) 03:35, 18 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Actually it happened after the merger on april 15 2023 the merger was on april 14th 2023. I was trying to cite my sources but i am unable to figure out how to do it. So if you would leave it there so i can get my sources into order or tell me how to cite my sources. Thank you. TitanicSankUnderWater (talk) 16:30, 18 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, so 22 was a typo and you meant to type in 23 instead? Okay. Anyways, there's a guide on how to cite your sources at WP:HOWTOCITE alongside another guide written for beginners at Help:Referencing for beginners. Good luck! A diehard editor (talk | edits) 18:04, 18 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
thank you TitanicSankUnderWater (talk) 18:05, 18 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
do you mind bringing back that part of the article so i can add the actual article. heres the link https://www.trains.com/trn/news-reviews/news-wire/three-hurt-as-cpkc-train-derails-in-maine/ TitanicSankUnderWater (talk) 18:08, 18 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Sure. Here's the old text for you:
File:CP 7011.png
This is the photo of the lead unit after the collision. This unit was demolished in the derailment.
Former CP 7011 derailed on 4-15-22, the crew survived with minor injures. The train derailed from a washout. 3 locomotives and 6 cars carrying lumber and electrical wiring derailed north of Rockwood causing a small forest fire. Other cars were reportedly carrying hazardous materials but didn't derail.
And here is an old version of the page with that part still intact. You can always view the page history to view old versions of articles. A diehard editor (talk | edits) 18:17, 18 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
thank ya TitanicSankUnderWater (talk) 18:27, 18 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I expanded the reference to use the full {{Cite web}} template. And fixed the date and changed it to what was said on the article. Anyways, I think it's suitable for inclusion now. A diehard editor (talk | edits) 18:37, 18 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
thanks TitanicSankUnderWater (talk) 18:38, 18 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
