January 2021[edit]

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at Sung Wong Toi Park, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Meatsock and off site canvassing and block evasion is not allowed in wikipedia. Also, please provide reliable source to prove the park/garden is located in Ma Tau Chung. No citation, (e.g. news article that wrote 位於 X 的宋皇臺花園/公園) no cat. Matthew hk (talk) 11:17, 24 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Also, any forum (uwants, lihkg, hkgolden, reddit) link are not qualified as a reliable source. facebook usually not a reliable source unless you want to make a direct quote of a politician 's facebook tweet. Matthew hk (talk) 11:22, 24 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Which link are you talking about? 1.64.46.31 (talk) 13:56, 24 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Special:Diff/1002383095. Matthew hk (talk) 14:55, 24 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Are you joking here? The map itself wasn't created by Uwants. Would have quoted another source if the same map is available online elsewhere. Please make sure that you understand the policy before you point your finger around. 1.64.46.31 (talk) 15:08, 24 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
(If in case you were on the same page:) A map or whatsoever published by any legal entity in the 1950s would have already been in the public domain. It does not matter whether it is hosted on the server of a forum or otherwise. 1.64.46.31 (talk) 15:13, 24 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
In wikipedia upload to blogger / facebook / forum are considered self published source. You got the original map, scan it and upload to wiki commons is another thing.... Matthew hk (talk) 15:37, 24 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
What do you mean by "[i]n Wikipedia" or "upload to blogger"? Would you please kindly clarify? 1.64.46.31 (talk) 15:50, 24 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hello? 1.64.46.31 (talk) 17:15, 25 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Please refer to Talk:Sung Wong Toi Garden#Ma Tau Chung. What meatsock are you talking about? Please be reminded about WP:NPA. 1.64.46.31 (talk) 13:56, 24 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
The cat was added by a blocked user that deem not constructive by admin (and not me , as i never applied to be an admin ), you re-add the cat, would simply framed yourself as WP:sock suspect or WP:Meat. But at least you start a discussion thread , which you can end up use WP:RFC yet again or simply use Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Requests for closure after no one has commented the thread anymore for a while. But if you keep on just adding cat without able to WP:verify by other editors, i am afraid me or other editors would simply submit you to WP:AIV. Other editors are simply not patient and request to block all HK ip from editing unless they have an account. If you not behave well and familiar with how wikipedia works, it would just make the mass block a reality and create collateral damage to other HK editors. Matthew hk (talk) 15:43, 24 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know who added it and when it was added. I only noticed that in the past couple of days you depopulate it while at the same time submitting it for CfD. Why can't you just wait? What's the point of going all around to bite other editors and to make all these disruptive and unconstructive edits in such an extensive scale? Most people got other better things to do and won't bother to deal with you. All what you are doing is nothing much different from attempting to own those topics you are interested in. 1.64.46.31 (talk) 15:50, 24 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
And quote Deryck Chan at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/14.0.180.170

I have an unusual proposal here. This rangeblock, and similar ones for other HK ISPs, is going to have massive collateral damage. But if one of the characteristics of this sockmaster / troop leader is that they refuse to register an account, then surely the appropriate solution here is to temporarily soft-block the IP range from editing without logging in but permit account creation?

--Matthew hk (talk) 15:49, 24 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

(edit conflict) And Blablubbs at Wikipedia:WikiProject on open proxies/Requests

(Soft-)Blocking these ranges or semiprotecting affected articles on those grounds is of course still a reasonable idea, but that's out of scope for WPOP

Arbitrary break[edit]

Information icon Please refrain from using talk pages such as Talk:Holy Trinity Cathedral, Hong Kong for general discussion of the topic or other unrelated topics. They are for discussion related to improving the article in specific ways, based on reliable sources and the project policies and guidelines; they are not for use as a forum or chat room. If you have specific questions about certain topics, consider visiting our reference desk and asking them there instead of on article talk pages. See here for more information. Also, please don't edit someone's sign timestamp Matthew hk (talk) 13:50, 24 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Which message(s) or which line(s) are you talking about? Please be specific. 1.64.46.31 (talk) 13:56, 24 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Arbitrary break[edit]

Please stop your disruptive editing.

If you continue to disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at Sung Wong Toi Garden, you may be blocked from editing. You can't add cat and then form consensus later . Matthew hk (talk) 14:52, 24 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You aren't an administrator so please don't pretend that you are. Please do not abuse all these warning messages. Keep that with the last stable version while discussion is ongoing on the talk page. And do not depopulate a category and create an artificial fait accompli when that category is nominated for CfD. Do not disrupt to attempt to skew such a discussion. (@Deryck Chan: you make want to look into Matthew hk's disruptions and take necessary actions.) 1.64.46.31 (talk) 15:15, 24 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I am not an admin but I am an experienced editor. The template can be used by anyone, given it is used in a correct way. Matthew hk (talk) 15:45, 24 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Show that they are used in the correct way. As you love to ask around: Produce the reliable source[s]. 1.64.46.31 (talk) 15:54, 24 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
reliable source are not "produced". There is even a noticeboard to discuss an external secondary source (or tertiary) is reliable or not. Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Noticeboard. Last time they seems banned Chinese state owned media. Matthew hk (talk) 15:59, 24 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Wiktionary:produce#Verb #2. Who are "they"? What do you mean by "they seems banned"? (Do you actually speak English?) 1.64.46.31 (talk) 16:12, 24 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hello? 1.64.46.31 (talk) 17:15, 25 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
So do you actually know what the English word "produce" means? Have you got any reliable source for this: "I am not an admin but I am an experienced editor. The template can be used by anyone, given it is used in a correct way."? 1.64.46.31 (talk) 15:10, 4 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Arbitrary break[edit]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to add unsourced or poorly sourced content, as you did at Ma Tau Chung, you may be blocked from editing. Matthew hk (talk) 22:09, 31 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

What exactly are unsourced or poorly sourced? Be specific. Thanks. 1.64.46.31 (talk) 16:44, 2 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Map[edit]

Which part of the map should i crack and upload to wiki commons to at least proves the location of the historical place name(s) ? Kowloon part for Ma Tau Chung and Ma Tau Wai? https://nla.gov.au/nla.obj-233686559/view

It is engraved in 1866 so that it does not have copyrights issue (as wiki commons only allow creative commons files and public domain) and can be used to illustrate the place name in the 1860s. (Before the formation of New Territories). The map has issue such as 青山 as 清山 (and historian argue it should be 聖山/杯渡山) Matthew hk (talk) 12:40, 25 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

What? 1.64.46.31 (talk) 17:14, 25 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
"吸"? (Special:Diff/1002652363) 1.64.46.31 (talk) 19:39, 25 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
It just a relic of forget to switch from Microsoft Quick to en input. Matthew hk (talk) 08:58, 4 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
What is "relic of forget"? What was that you meant to say? 1.64.46.31 (talk) 09:01, 4 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Have you ever use 速成 Chinese input? Type RE too fast and hit enter = 吸. Matthew hk (talk) 09:17, 4 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Ah.. Simplified Ts'ang-chieh. This leaves me wonder why you keep incorporating Chinese characters directly in what you say in, presumably, English (which doesn't quite sound like English at all in terms of grammar and syntax). Most Hongkongers would say what they'd want to say in English straightaway.., but anyway. Meanwhile I thought Ts'ang-chieh is preferable to its simplified version in this country. 1.64.46.31 (talk) 14:51, 4 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you add unsourced material to Wikipedia, as you did with this edit to Anna Lo. Asartea Talk | Contribs 08:07, 4 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Lo was born in Hong Kong (which was already suggested in the article by the time of my edit, an edit which I already reverted when your message above was posted here) and brought up in North Point on the island.[1] [2] Her paternal grandparent (See below. 1.64.46.31 (talk) 17:15, 14 February 2021 (UTC)) was born in San Francisco.[3] Would you please clarify and elaborate on what the issue was? Thanks. 1.64.46.31 (talk) 08:54, 4 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You have a lot of info up in your page, in addition you continued disruption in the articles and made a performance at ANI. You have been told to stop many times, you have not stopped.--Ymblanter (talk) 09:14, 4 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
