VIRGINIA HEALTH INFORMATION PROJECT

The Virginia Health Information Project (VHIP) is a non-commercial web-based combination of reliable national and Virginia-specific health resources. The VHIP was conceived by the Soho Center [1], a 37 year-old non-profit focusing primarily on young children's issues (enhancing child care, early literacy, school readiness, and school success) as well as health and nurtition. The project was initially funded by the Office of the Virginia Attorney General.

The VHIP's role is to provide an easily-navigated resource to connect Virginians with needed health resources without having to sort through the millions of possible l(and ofen questionable) links that a typical internet search generates.
