About Me[edit]

I am a college junior at Georgia Southern University. I have made the Dean's list, which requires at least a 3.5 GPA, the past two consecutive semesters. I have always done well in math and science but struggled in history and English. In high school, I graduated as an honor graduate and a member of Beta Club.

Georgia Southern is located in Statesboro, Georgia and has won six Division I-AA national championships in football. We are currently in the FCS playoffs and will, hopefully, bring home our seventh national championship title. This weekend we will be taking on the Wofford Terriers, and like Billy Bob Thorton would say, "That means bad news for the Terriers!"

I have had numerous part-time jobs. My most recent was working for a flooring company. I like to hunt, fish, play softball, watch football, tail gate, go out with friends, anything involving the outdoors, etc.

During this Christmas break, I will be taking a cruise to the Bahamas. This should be a nice way to blow off some steam from a hellacious semester and finals week. Then, I will return home and work to get some of the money back that I intend on spending on the cruise. Hopefully, I will be able to stay out of the casinos and away from the bar.

Contributions to Wikipedia[edit]

I have edited nine articles on Wikipedia to improve their clarity and correct grammatical errors. The articles I edited were: Ax Men, Dalian Metro, Tigerfish, Bulloch County, Georgia, and 2010 Pakistan floods. I have also expanded on a stub article. My main contribution to Wikipedia was expanding the stub, USSSA.

Relationship to Technology[edit]

I consider myself to be pretty familiar with technology. I would rather send text messages than receive a letter. I have used some computer languages such as Mat lab, pseudo code, assembly language, and java.

I find myself to work well with Microsoft word, power point, and excel. I am also familiar with auto CAD.

Philosophy of Wikipedia[edit]

Before the start of this class, I was unfamiliar with Wikipedia. I only used Wikipedia as references for essays and research papers in the past. I never had my own Wikipedia account before this class. I had no knowledge of the fact that anyone could get on this website and edit or create articles with no particular credentials.

I believe Wikipedia to be a good resource, but I can also see how college professors disagree. This is due to the fact that anyone can create an account and make changes to various articles. I feel that some qualifications should be required to people making edits on Wikipedia.

Languages[edit]

I read, write, and speak only English fluently. I have, however, had some elementary courses in Spanish, but I wouldn't consider myself familiar with the language and its dialects. I have got to experience some Chinese from my roommate, who is minoring in Chinese. It seems like a pretty tough language to learn, and I don't know why he is doing it.
