Hi, Saltmage here! I’m a biology student in Western Washington. My academic interests include forest ecology, mycology, bioremediation, and regenerative agriculture.

My non-academic interests include cooking, hiking, mushroom hunting, and permaculture.

…I’m starting to think they might just be the same interests.

At any rate, my knowledge mostly revolves around the forest and coastline of the Pacific Northwest, with far less outside of my native range.

What I Do Here

Wikipedia has a regrettably lacking database when it comes to botany and mycology. While not many people view some of these pages— my current pet project, List of flora of Washington (state) sees about 350 visitors per month— it still feels incredibly satisfying to fill in those infogaps.

Beyond adding information to existing pages, I’m hoping to standardize formatting on such lists, and add pages for more plant and fungus species.
