Fred Jacobowitz is a notable Classical, Jazz and Folk clarinetist was born in 1961 and raised in Brooklyn, NY. Jacobowitz made his New York Debut in 1984 at Carnegie Recital Hall as winner of the Artists International Competition. Fred Jacobitz was a featured soloist on radio stations WBAI and WQXR in New York City, with the Goldman Band and performed recitals throughout the Metropolitan New York area. As a chamber musician, Fred has participated in the Marlboro Music Festival and played in the Verrazano Winds Woodwind Quintet in Brooklyn, New York. Fred was also Principal Clarinetist in the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra from 1989-2002.

Fred Jacobitz has been featured on WBAI and WQXR in New York City with the Goldman Band, and in recitals throughout the metropolitan New York area. Fred has played virtually all styles of music at one time or another including Classical, Jazz, Klezmer, Bluegrass, Gypsy village music and Irish pennywhistle

In the Baltimore/Washington area, Jacobowitz has played with, among others, the Capital Klezmers, Machaya Klezmer Band and the Kol Chaim band, appearing at the Kennedy Center's Millennium Stage and Strathmore Hall. In addition, Fred Jacowitz was heard frequently at the Washington Jewish Festival and at Glen Echo Park, and Fred has performed in Israel at the annual Safed Klezmer festival. Jacobowitz collaborated with Brian Choper to form what is today the very successful New Klezmer Quintet. . The band is now rising to become one of the countries most highly esteemed Klezmer Ensembles having played at the 2009 Inaugural festivities and simulcast on NPR.
