WP:MYSPACE

Over the past few weeks I've noticed that you've engaged in some border line Myspaceing activites. Including, alerting users of your return from a wikibreak [1], [2], [3]. On top of that according to this graphic, you've made 55% of your edits to the user talk space, 22% to your userpage and 10% to articles. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a place to constantly talk to people about nothing, if you want to do that please join Facebook/Myspace/Twitter etc. If you want to be part of something like Wikipedia, please turn your attention to actually working on articles, whether that be fixing typos or expanding articles. I second the notion. While im friends with you OSK you have made me really mad in the past. User:Gurrenlaggan killed me. Your random edits about nothing has probably hurt me more than anybody else as people constantly see the black mark on my block log for "abusing multiple acounts" (something of with I did not do) I belive that you should spend the next week working on DYK. THat would be a very nice place to start. You may also want to tell Dylan620 that you with to begin your lessions for adoption. I hope that you will soon become a respected editor with several DYK's under your belt. Im not being hypocritical at all. You have no idea how much trouble OSK caused me. Just take a look at my block log. Thant and my edit count. Alot (not most) of those edits are between me and him with me tyring to say "stop draging me down with you" (this is irrelavant) And when you said that "those articles are way too advanced..." well there's a word for that, BOLD. Im not mad or anything, I just think that yse, OSK has caused me alot of problems on wikipedia. Stop using Wikipedia as a MySpace

Hi, Orangesodakid. I've noticed that (according to this) 83% of your total edits on Wikipedia are to user/usertalk space. We are here to build and expand this encyclopedia. Only 83 out of your 794 edits are to Wikipedia articles, while 659 are to the user/usertalk space. This is absolutely inappropriate. Please turn your focus to Wikipedia's articles, and away from the userspace. I'm not asking you to balance your article edits and MySpace edits, I'm asking you to completely cease your MySpace edits and ONLY focus on our articles. Ya, I've noticed this too. It is really imperative that you cease making such "MySpace" edits right now. While there is a social component to Wikipedia (discussing articles, etc.), the vast majority of your edits should be directed at helping to improve Wikipedia. Adding on to what User:IMatthew said, if your goal is to social network, Wikipedia is not the best place to do that. Consider Facebook, MySpace, or Twitter. Consider finding a subject you like and work to improve that article by adding information with reliable outside sources. Special:Random is useful if you're looking for random pages to improve. I appreciate that you are acting in good faith, but it is best if featured articles are nominated by people who have worked closely on them. In this way, they can give reasoned replies to reviewers and be familiar enough with the sources to act on suggested improvements. Someone who has not worked on the article can not provide this input, so the nomination may continue until opposition to it becomes so overwhelming that the article is failed; this takes away time from reviewers. While the Tenacious D article is of reasonable quality, it is not yet of featured quality, and principal contributors must be consulted before a nomination, as required in the featured article candidate instructions.
