Tinkersmiths is a community oriented Makerspace located in Charlottesville, Virginia. This space offers workshops in both the clean-tech and dirty-tech maker categories along with traditional Hackerspace[1] activities. Tinkersmiths is run as a Benefit Corporation.

About[edit]

Tinkersmiths began with a group of enuthiest known as Central Virginia Makers. This group meet weekly in persuit of a physical space that would be located in a mixed use area conveinent for

Membership[edit]

Membership and workshops are completely free. Members[2] are allowed to bring guests to most of the events. Some events require the workshop attendee to pay for or bring in their own supplies.

Physical Space[edit]

Tinkersmiths is a 750 sq/ft mixed use space at 1229 Harris Street Unit Charlottesville, VA. This location is in walking distance from the city's central Downtown Mall is one of the longest pedestrian malls in the United States.

  • Regular exhibitor at the Charlottesville Mini Maker Fair.
  • 3D printing exhibitor at the Jefferson-Madison Regional Library.
  • Idea coach for the Albemarle County Public Schools Gifted Program.
