The Meitei people, also known as the Manipuri people (Kannada: ಮಣಿಪುರಿ ಜನರು, Malayalam: മണിപ്പൂരി ആളുകൾ, Tamil: மணிப்பூரி மக்கள், Telugu: మణిపురి ప్రజలు), living in the South Indian states of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Telangana, are originated from the Northeast Indian states.
