At risk mental state is the term used to describe the clinical presentation of those considered at risk of developing psychosis or schizophrenia[1]. It has replaced the term prodrome in reference to emerging symptoms of psychosis, as a prodromal period can not be confirmed unless the emergence of the condition has occurred. (also see early psychosis).
