Cash coins in art[edit]

Mikazuki-mura Edo coins[edit]

Cash coin tokens are used at the Mikazuki-mura (三日月村) theme park located in the Gunma Prefecture, Kantō region.[1] The theme park is based on a rural village during the Bakumatsu (the late Edo period) and includes a number of attractions such as a house filled with Ninja tricks.[1] On the premises of the Mikazuki-mura theme park visitors have to use "Edo coins" to make purchases as well as to pay for the attractions.[2][1] These tokens are purchased at a price of 100 yen (円) for 1 mon (文).[2] The tokens are identical to the historical Edo period Kan'ei Tsūhō (寛永通寳) and Tenpō Tsūhō (天保通寳) cash coins, but contain the text "三日月村" (Mikazuki-mura) written very small on their reverse sides.[2]

Kan'ei Tsūhō[edit]

  • Imitations of Kan'ei Tsūhō cash coins are used at the Mikazuki-mura (三日月村) theme park located in the Gunma Prefecture, Kantō region.[1][2] The theme park is based on a rural village during the Bakumatsu (the late Edo period).[1] These token cash coins contain the text "三日月村" (Mikazuki-mura) written very small on the rim of their reverse sides to indicate that it's a token produced by the park.[2]
