Fred Riedel has produced and directed films, video and TV programs with Jem Cohen, Jeff Preiss, Keith Griffiths, Simon Field, Lee Ranaldo, Ravi Coltrane, Marc Maron and Charles Busch. His work includes music videos for Miracle Legion, Lee Ranaldo, and Torne Lake, as well as documentaries for HBO, BBC, CH. 4, etc. Fred was nominated for a NY Emmy for "Bruce Davidson -- Making Contact" for WNET which he produced and directed. He received an NEA award for "Late City Final: Motion Pictures from the End of Times Square." In 2012 Fred released the feature documentary, "Nobody Knows," about men in long-term relationships. His recent feature documentary, of Lee Ranaldo (Sonic Youth) recording his 2017 (Mute records) album, Hello Hello Hello : Lee Ranaldo : Electric Trim, premiered to sold out houses at the Montclair Film Festival and traveled to theaters and festivals around the world. He also received the award for Best Director at the Gig Harbor Film Festival.

A former curator of P.S. 1’s film and video program and historian for the NYPL media collection, Fred Riedel is also an independent filmmaker and media/tech consultant. His work as a director and producer of feature and short film and television has been shown on HBO, WNET, and many other platforms, as well as in festivals and theaters throughout the world.

Fred manages GME’s databases, website, email and marketing campaigns via mailchimp, the GME website and social media accounts, in addition to advising on GME’s photographic and video needs.
