Clover Operating System We acquired Clover ,  an  open  architecture,  integrated  POS  operating  system,  in  December  2012  and  invested  in  the  technology  to significantly  enhance  and  expand  its  capabilities.  Our  goal  with Clover is  to  create  for  business  owners  the  largest  open  architecture  platform  of  commerce enabling solutions and applications in the world. We have expanded the family of Clover products to include the Clover Station , Clover Mobile, Clover Mini , and Clover Go and each device provides a broad range of next-generation features and software applications designed to help business clients conduct commerce.  Through December 31, 2016, we had sold over 500,000 Clover devices. Within Clover , we also offer a cloud-based Clover App Market for business applications. Our software marketplace is designed specifically to provide business clients with integrated software applications that they can download and install quickly and easily on their Clover devices. Business applications can be developed internally by us, such as Insightics , or by third party developers. As of December 31, 2016, the Clover App Market has 238 active business applications and 667 in development.
