Crump's Almshouses
The eight Crump Almshouses are in Eldon Street in Walsall in the England’s West Midlands Combined Authority.
John Farrington Crump was a solicitor in Walsall. He set up a deed in 1886 to have three alms houses built. They each had a bed-sitting room and a communal scullery and lavatory.[1] The present building is a new-build and consists of eight flats. They and are now run by the Harper’s, Marsh and Crumps Almshouses Charity.
There was a cluster of almshouses in a small area of Walsall. Crump’s, Harper’s, Henry Boy’s and Marsh’s are extant. Cox’s Almshouses which was between Bullock’s Row and St Matthew’s Close and the Victor Street Almshouses have gone.
