Template amended[edit]

This template referred the reader to a non-existent set of suggestions for article structure at Wikipedia:WikiProject Cornwall. Per discussion on my talk page, I've amended the text to refer instead to the standard WikiProject UK geography/How to write about settlements guidance. This is just intended as a quick fix, further enhancements are welcome.  —SMALLJIM  11:37, 9 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think that the template should have a shortcut inside it, as the shortcut appears on all transcluded pages (including talk pages transcluding {{WikiProject Cornwall}}). Plus, the shortcut doesn't even redirect here. Could it be removed or noinclude'd? SWinxy (talk) 19:47, 20 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

To editor SWinxy: it might be more intuitive if the shortcut were to target this guide page. Are you okay with that? P.I. Ellsworth - ed. put'r there 21:01, 20 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Paine Ellsworth I think that I agree with SWinxy that {{Shortcut}} should not be transcluded across all talk pages with this WikiProject banner as it states in the usecase and standard use this normally marks the top of the section the shortcut links to rather than being a way to promote the shortcut across multiple pages. Instead it might be better to use {{WikiProject status|sc1=WP:Cornwall}} to mark the shorcut at the top of Wikipedia:WikiProject Cornwall in line with other WikiProjects. And just remove the template altogether from this guide, changing its destination might just confuse any current uses of the shortcut. Terasail[✉️] 21:29, 20 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
WP:CORNWALL links to the WikiProject page and shouldn't be moved. Terasail is right in my intentions. In addition the link to the Cornwall WikiProject doesn't need to be made since {{WikiProject Cornwall}} already links to it by virtue of it using a meta-banner. Okay, then it's a  done deal. P.I. Ellsworth - ed. put'r there 21:57, 20 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
