Geographical Association[edit]

The text "or are associated with" should be included as this assists proper classification of Wikipedians. I agree that there are categories for interests and ethnicities, but a user should be able to identify with more than one location. For example a student who is studying in another country should be able to categorise themselves according to both their "home" and "host" countries. Otherwise it would necessitate creating a parallel set of "ex-pat" categories. Furthermore it would be necessary for a Wikipedian to change their identity each time they move country even though they do not have to change their passport.--Vivenot 13:17, 9 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I removed these words from the template before seeing this discussion. Please note that there are now categories of "Wikipedians from ...", under ethnic and nationality groupings. Removal of "This page is replacing ..."[edit]

I have removed the following from the template:

This page is replacing [[Wikipedia:Wikipedians/{{{2}}}|Wikipedians/{{{2}}}]]. See User categorisation for more information.

New template: Usercatb[edit]

Hi! I made a new template, {{Usercatb}}, that replaces the base one (usercat) along with the -1 and -2 versions, all the while maintaining compatibility and adding new features. Please check it and start using it, as it's worth it. -- alexgieg (talk) 21:41, 17 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
