Redlinks? N-to-1 references?[edit]

This template, new at August 2018, is intended to replace List of places on the Jurassic Coast. The first version is closely based on that list. But that list (and therefore the first version of this template) had various points that might be considered weaknesses:

  • Several redlinks, presumably for proposed articles
  • Several entries which redirect to a common entry (N-to-1 mapping)
  • Seeming lack of clarity over what to include; it contains significant towns (Sidmouth, etc.) and geographic features; is some refinement or sub-classification desirable?

Input welcome. Feline Hymnic (talk) 15:37, 9 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Principles...[edit]

The origins of the original list are unknown. The title "Jurassic Coast" strongly suggests that the contents should focus on things related to geology of the coast. This may includes towns; it may include museums related to the geology.

But the original had also included things such as subtropical gardens and a swannery. I have begun pruning these out; more needs to be done. I suggest that, for the moment, any maintenance of this template focus on pruning out such things, and resists temptations to include them.

Discussion of this is, of course, welcome. Feline Hymnic (talk) 16:38, 6 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
