Length[edit]

This template is inordinately long (see the effect at Franz, Duke of Bavaria). Is there anyway to collapse it or only show certain descents at a given time like the descendants of Victoria and Albert? Charles 05:30, 20 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I concur that the length of this template makes it less than useful. I have created a page Template:House of Wittelsbach since 1921. If there is consensus, then everybody after the children of King Ludwig III could be removed from this page and then it could be renamed Template:House of Wittelsbach (1805 - 1921) - although there might be some discussion about the dates. I am aware that this does not address the issue of including Prince Ludwig senior, Prince Luitpold, and Prince Ludwig junior in a template - but then they are not in the present one. This is something which could be addressed in the future. Noel S McFerran (talk) 13:37, 20 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I would agree to it. I think we should get the living people into a template called Bavarian Royal Family as well and use that on the pages of the living members of the family. We could maybe also have a template listing the descendants of Ludwig III as I imagine that encompasses the Princes Ludwig and Prince Luitpold and all living descendants.
