Ravenpuff, I don't quite agree with your wording change as the sentence flows poorly as a result. Was the problem with using CIA as an adjective or the ambiguity of alleged? If it's the latter, maybe the word could just be dropped (considering that the sources are quite agreed on the fact; it's just that documentary evidence is lacking)? --Paul_012 (talk) 18:16, 23 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Paul 012: "alleged undercover CIA husband" appears to imply that whether he was her husband is part of the allegation, even though the only thing being alleged is whether he was "undercover CIA". At least that's what I got when I first read the hook. — RAVENPVFF · talk · 01:53, 24 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
In that case, I'll have to ask Chetsford: would you be okay with leaving out the alleged, leaving it as "that Maxine North swore never to return to Thailand after the death of her undercover CIA husband, but ultimately settled there and introduced bottled water to the country?" As I mentioned, I originally included it because there was no official proof, but it wasn't actually disputed by any of the sources. --Paul_012 (talk) 06:18, 24 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Unless anyone else objects, that seems fine to me based on my reading of the sources. Chetsford (talk) 08:38, 24 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That's fine with me as well. — RAVENPVFF · talk · 12:06, 24 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
