Template:WikiProject Genealogy/doc

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The {{WikiProject Genealogy}} (or {{WPGEN}}) project banner template should be added (not subst:ed) to the talk page of every article within the scope of the project. While the template does not require any additional parameters, it has a number of optional ones that add various extra features to the banner.

Usage[edit]

Syntax[edit]

The full syntax is as follows:

{{WikiProject Genealogy
 |class=
 |priority=
 |attention=
 |needs-infobox=
 |listas=
 |photo=
}}

Here is the same thing, but in horizontal format:

{{WikiProject Genealogy |class= |priority= |attention= |needs-infobox= |listas= |photo= }}

Parameters[edit]

To avoid needlessly cluttering up talk pages, please remove any unused parameters from the template.

  • class – a rating of the article's quality; see the assessment department for more details. Categories, Project pages, Templates, and Portal pages are automatically assessed by this template, so remove this parameter for any of those pages. Options are:
  • FA for articles which are Featured articles
  • FL for articles which are Featured lists
  • A for articles which are A-Class
  • GA for articles which are Good Articles
  • B for articles which are B-Class
  • C for articles which are C-Class
  • Start for articles which are Start-Class
  • Stub for articles which are Stubs
  • List for articles which are Lists
  • Book for articles which are Wikipedia:Books
  • Dab for articles which are Disambiguation articles
  • NA for articles which are Not Articles (such as project articles).
  • priority – rates the priority/importance of the article to the overall completeness of genealogy-related information on Wikipedia: Top, High, Mid, Low, None.
  • attention - "yes" if the article needs immediate attention for one reason or another
  • needs-infobox - "yes" if the article needs an infobox added to it
  • listas - fill in if the article needs to be sorted in categories some way other than using the article title. For example, Talk:Izumi Takemoto would have this parameter completed using Takemoto, Izumi because the article should be sorted by the surname.
  • photo - "yes" if the article needs a photo or image
