The Kingdom of Kevin Malone[edit]

5x expanded by Vivvt (talk). Self-nominated at 03:53, 5 March 2017 (UTC).

Interesting book, on good sources, no copyvio obvious. I don't understand the plot yet, please help by a few commas and checking that a plural noun is matched by a plural verb. I feel that we have many plot details and little background, could you add a bit? - I am not too familiar with infobox book, - if it was composition, the image of the author might go to the infobox. - I like the sourced hook. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 14:38, 6 March 2017 (UTC)
@Gerda Arendt: I have added punctuation wherever possible but couldnt find much info about the background as such. - Vivvt (Talk) 08:43, 7 March 2017 (UTC)
Thank you, I also helped myself to more commas, matching and copy-editing, - please check if I changed the meaning, and feel free to revert. - I'll get to the orchestra, but possibly not today, - several things to get ready for women's day tomorrow ;) - Actually this work by a woman might also qualify for 8 March. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 08:54, 7 March 2017 (UTC)
  • 1025 characters are the one-paragraph lead and one-paragraph Reception section. 1135 characters are plot. I feel this article falls short of WP:DYKSG#D7. It is also unclear why an adult fantasy novel won a prize in the children's literature division; perhaps more could be said about that. Yoninah (talk) 22:00, 7 March 2017 (UTC)
  • @Yoninah: I have added some more information. Please let me know if its sufficient. The book is from pre-internet era so tough to get some info. - Vivvt (Talk) 04:18, 9 March 2017 (UTC)
  • @Vivvt: Thank you. I reorganized the presentation and did some more editing. It's definitely start-class now.
  • Now that you've added more information to the article, perhaps we could make a better hook?
  • ALT1: ... that Suzy McKee Charnas's fantasy novel The Kingdom of Kevin Malone is based on her own experience being bullied as a child in Manhattan? Yoninah (talk) 15:27, 9 March 2017 (UTC)
  • @Yoninah: Thats interesting one. I hope we dont need another reviewer for this. - Vivvt (Talk) 15:55, 9 March 2017 (UTC)
sure if you two agree, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 22:38, 9 March 2017 (UTC)
This was returned to noms from prep due to concerns about "the hook is referenced by "heartless-bitches.com" which appears to be a feeder site for Amazon. Is that a reliable source?". Please find a better ref or explain why this is a reliable source. HalfGig talk 20:28, 11 March 2017 (UTC)
How about returning to the original hook? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:19, 11 March 2017 (UTC)
Thank you. Both hooks are approved, and the think the original is even a bit more unusual. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 07:35, 12 March 2017 (UTC)
