SS Principessa Jolanda[edit]

The Principessa Jolanda listing heavily after launch on 22 September 1907.

Created/expanded by Ultracobalt (talk). Self nom at 03:16, 9 August 2012 (UTC)

  • QPQ performed
  • >1500 characters
  • Neutral, cited inline
  • Hook is short enough and definitely interesting
ISSUES:
  • Article started at ~500 characters, and is now ~1893, a 3.8x expansion. Do you have more you can write about this? I really like the topic and may bend the 5x requirement a bit.

Ah yes I mistakenly included the Infobox/titles in the 5x expansion count. Further details from sources are available and were added. I now count ~3146 without refs, titles or Infobox-- Ultracobalt  (talk) 05:29, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
  • Add the ISBN for "Great Shipwrecks of the Twentieth Century", and if you could get hold of the book, a page number would be nice
  • Are you sure that the image was published (not created) before 1978? Also, a more direct link to the source of the image would be better.
Chris857 (talk) 00:10, 10 August 2012 (UTC)
  • ISBN added and while at it I made minor adjustments to the other references
  • I'm 99% sure the image was published before '78, Italian wiki states it was prior to 1941. However, please hold while I do more checking. If it can't be confirmed I'll work on getting the lower quality image that definitely appeared in Engineering in Oct 1907.
  • Someone renamed the article today, I'm not sure how to handle it here (just edit title above, or rename whole template and reinsert into DYK nominations page at same spot?) --Ultracobalt  (talk) 12:52, 10 August 2012 (UTC)
  • Moving the template usually causes more headache than is worthwhile, but I have changed the two links that matter (the one in the hook and the Article History link). Chris857 (talk) 21:01, 10 August 2012 (UTC)
  • Great. I changed the photo because I couldn't find the version with a Civicchioni-Chiavari marking confirming publication before 1941 as claimed on Italian wiki, where it is originally from. I also added 2 more photos and updated a reference. I chose the sinking photo for here although the launch photo is also interesting and higher quality.-- Ultracobalt  (talk) 18:06, 12 August 2012 (UTC)
  • I'm satisfied by the image copyrights, and I found no copyvio. The section on her sister ship say that Principessa Mafalda was completed May 1909, but the separate article on the ship states 30 March 1909. Could this be rectified? For the hook, I prefer a picture of the ship sinking as that is what the hook is about. Chris857 (talk) 16:24, 14 August 2012 (UTC)
  • Rectified, maiden voyage was March, so both pages corrected. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ultracobalt (talkcontribs) 20:41, 14 August 2012 (UTC)

Assuming good faith on some offline sources, this looks good to go. Chris857 (talk) 21:09, 14 August 2012 (UTC)
