  • New enough, long enough, neutrally written. No QPQ needed for nominator with less than 5 DYK credits.
  • I copyedited the article for English grammar, but I don't think the presentation is balanced or start-class. The whole Teachers section and half of the Alumni section is one long series of name-dropping. The only thing that could be said to be notable about the school is that "most Albanian professional artists are alumni", but that fact isn't sourced. (I added a few "citation needed" tags to information that needs to be cited.) There is very little description about the school itself. There are only two references; if this is a notable institution, hasn't it been written up in newspapers, books, or magazines? Yoninah (talk) 21:29, 21 August 2018 (UTC)
  • @Yoninah: thank you for your review. I have used all the sources that I could find for this, and they are both good, although offline. Online there isn't almost anything, and the school's official website is on facebook, and doesn't have much of its history either. It is remarkable that the alumni of this school didn't write much about their own school, although, that should be understandable, as, in general, musicians, painters, and ballet dancers actually don't like much writing. "most Albanian professional artists are alumni" is sourced and I changed it in the article to show that: it was one big paragraph before you split it, and the source (two pages from Koliqi) was for the whole thing, but now I'm sourcing each sentence. Koliqi (in the link you have the article in sqwiki) is a reliable source, who has documented much of the schools (Historia e arsimit dhe e mendimit pedagogjik shqiptar would be translated to History of Albanian teaching and pedagogical thinking). Each and every single alumnus or teacher mentioned in the article would be notable, as they are at least Merited Artist of Albania, but right now they don't have articles, and I don't want to put redlinks in a DYK. Yes, this was the only artistic school for a long time, until another one opened in Shkodër. The fact that Edi Rama, prime minister, went there is interesting (at least for all future artistic school graduates, :-)). We have two sources the article in the Albanian encyclopedia is kind of dry, but supports, partially, the paragraphs that Koliqi supports, still I feel that Koliqi should be sufficient. I don't expect many views in this article, as I got with Alfons Tracki yesterday, but I feel that the DYK can stand easily on its own.   • Update @Yoninah: Added three more sources about building dire situation as of 2014, building facelift in 2016 and participation of Edi Rama in the inauguration of the event, where he mentioned some more famous alumni. Also added a sourced major music event in December 2017 where the school students performed along with their teachers at the Orthodox Cathedral, as well as a couple of other important facts, the 1973 document reporting on the school and its communist status, as well as the 1990 protest in front of the building. --1l2l3k (talk) 15:41, 27 August 2018 (UTC)
  • Thank you. I did some more copyediting for English grammar; please check that it looks ok. The one English source in footnote 5 seems to be talking about a different event than the one you discuss in the third paragraph under History. It seems to be talking about a different demonstration in which the police used water cannon, not the one in which the protest "started at Student City and ended right in front of the Artistic Lyceum building".   • Thank you. Everything looks good now. The last thing I'm wondering is whether you can improve the hookiness of the hook. I don't think it will be clear from a glance at the name what kind of school this is, and therefore the incongruity of a politician graduating from an arts school doesn't immediately come across. What do you think about:
