Henry Semon[edit]

  • ... that Henry Semon lost his seat in the Oregon legislature when he accepted a position on the state’s agriculture board, but was reappointed to the legislature after resigning from the board?
Source: Reference 29 in the article, a Klamath Falls Evening Herald article dated 15 May 1935, says: "Henry Semon is once again a member of the legislature. He was reappointed by the county court, filling a vacancy … created when Semon accepted an appointment to the state board of agriculture. At the time of his acceptance, it was not known it would constitute a resignation from the legislature, as was later ruled by the attorney general. … Semon has resigned as a member of the board of agriculture, thus qualifying himself for reappointment to the legislature."(subscription required)

New enough, long enough, neutrally written, well referenced, no close paraphrasing seen. QPQ done. Hook is good. CrossTemple Jay 13:59, 31 July 2017 (UTC)
