  • The article is long enough (1817 characters), and was expanded more than fivefold on 9 February. Nominator's review looks good. The hook is interesting and not too long - but there is a slight problem with it: according to one of the accompanying sources (Arirang), the original woodblock map doesn't include the islands, only the manuscript does. The islands were to be added to the image on the bill as a part of the ongoing Dokdo/Takeshima conflict. Maybe a slight rewrite (for both the hook and the article)? --  Mr.choppers | ✎  04:17, 13 February 2014 (UTC)
  • Excellent observation, User:Mr.choppers. I have added further refs, clarified this in the article, and propose the following ALT1 hook instead. Perhaps the wording could be tweaked; it's at 203 characters, but it would be nice to note that the 100,000 banknote would have been SK highest denomination up to date, too.   • - first, thanks for being so pleasant. Second, I think that a variation on ALT1 would be best. I don't think the hook should be too clear, since the goal is to pique the reader's interest. My suggested gentle rewording, still true but muddied up a bit:
ALT3: ... South Korea's highest denomination 100,000 won banknote was cancelled since the Daedongyeojido (pictured) did not portray the Liancourt Rocks?
True, since the problem in part stems from their textual inclusion but being missing from the map. Now 142 characters, and including the "highest denomination" bit.
