Questionable Authorship[edit]

It seems obvious from the French/Cajun references that the later copyright (as were most of their registrations) of words and music by Boudleaux & Patrice Bryant is the valid claim.

Dubious Source[edit]

Is there a better source for the first line? After a quick scan I could'nt find anything to do with a sex crime or the background to the song in general at all. I would be interested to know though Elcaballooscuro (talk) 06:44, 14 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Time loop? I like to read it as a circular narrative. They were living together unwed and furnished the apartment etc. All went well and after a year they went to Orleans to celebrate their anniversary and get married! It was a teenage wedding etc. Now is that not the better take than the boring linear?[edit]
