Personal life[edit]

Anybody think this should go in? The insult that Cabaye's wife allegedly made to his pregnant mistress that she is 'half boar, half tuna' is priceless. At the very least perhaps the word "devout" should be taken out of Roman Catholic. https://www.thesun.co.uk/tvandshowbiz/1456699/wife-blasts-cheating-prem-star-yohan-cabaye-on-social-media-and-brands-lover-half-boar-half-tuna/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by Booklung (talkcontribs) 23:27, 6 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Booklung: Absolutely not. Please refer to WP:BLPSOURCES for why we don't use tabloids as references on BLPs. Please remember to sign your posts on talk pages by typing four tildes (~~~~). Thanks, Nzd (talk) 08:52, 7 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, that's fair enough. But I would say that "devout" Roman Catholic doesn't work with the reference in the piece. Cabaye says he is a Catholic - doesn't say he is devout - seems unencyclopaedic to say he is "devout", no evidence for that.Booklung (talk) 10:36, 7 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The Sun report is based on French magazine Public, it's a celebnrity magazine in France, and the quotes come from a direct interview with Fiona Cabaye. Is Public a source banned by Wikipedia? [1]

@Booklung: Public doesn't look like particularly quality journalism, so I would probably steer clear when it comes to BLPs (might be worth asking on WP:RS/N though). To be fair, the second source uses the word 'devout', but I personally wouldn't object if it was removed. Please remember to sign and indent your talk posts.
