Edge vs Del Rio Duration[edit]

The recorded duration in the page is 16:03, which is widely inaccurate, the official time of the match, from bell to bell is 11:09. Just thought I should correct that.-— Preceding unsigned comment added by 114.108.247.135 (talk) 14:10, 12 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Main event rules[edit]

The Rock made it no DQ and no countout match. Why in article it is singles match? --62.209.130.200 (talk) 05:35, 12 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It was started as singles match. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.100.20.87 (talk) 02:59, 20 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Cena VS The Rock[edit]

So is there actually a match scheduled between Cena and The Rock or not? Is The Rock just "hosting" like the Raw Guest Host or is he wrestling? Also can we add Undertaker VS Triple H to the match list? 80.229.169.189 (talk) 17:23, 22 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

No and not until it's confirmed/sourced at WWE.com. ECWAGuru (talk) 17:48, 22 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Return?[edit]

In the Pay-per-view chronology secton its Shows WrestleMania XXVII Returns, why does it say Return? Its not like its has been gone right? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.95.239.239 (talk) 18:37, 9 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It was vandalism/a test edit. I've reverted. NiciVampireHeart 19:08, 9 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

it wasnt vandalism i saw it said wrestlemania returns on the commerical meaning they return to GA so the person probably got confused and edited it like that —Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.100.146.210 (talk) 19:06, 7 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Again, it was a vandalism test.--Voices in my Head WrestleMania XXVII 21:17, 7 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Edge World champ?[edit]

Is it a bit early to say that Edge will be defending the title? Del Rio may be challenging for the World title at Mania but that doesn't mean the World champ will still be Edge by then. 94.197.175.3 (talk) 16:19, 1 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • I'm sure the Wrestlemania match will end up being being Edge/Del Rio because they just planted the first seeds of the feud on RAW. It also is listed on WWE.com as a match confirmed for Wrestlemania. Of course there is still the Elmination Chamber ppv (plus Edge defends his title on Smackdown this Friday...though the results are already known because the show is taped). Jason1978 (talk) 11:02, 1 February 2011 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.49.51.186 (talk) [reply]
Now that it's aired, it's fine to say that Edge regained his title and Ziggler was fired without getting his rematch. If Ziggles is still booked for Elimination Chamber then he'd have to get in somehow. Otherwise I'm guessing they would use one of Big Show, Cody Rhodes, Kofi Kingston or maybe Jack Swagger or Undertaker to fill the spot. I expect that'd probably count for his rematch clause. It wouldn't be the first time someone gets cheated out of an established match by having it be many-players (Barrett's NXT reward). Dictabeard (talk) 04:37, 19 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • The WM27 website on WWE.com lists Edge vs Del Rio as a match for Mania. That's a good enough source for anyone. --Evil Maldini (talk) 15:46, 2 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Wouldn't that be some kind of spoiler for who wins elimination chamber? Or if Edge somehow loses it AGAIN in the chamber, he'd have to regain it by mania via rematch clause with whoever takes it. Dictabeard (talk) 04:37, 19 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • I believe there is no reason to have 'World Heavyweight Champion' vs. Alberto Del Rio under the matches section. As of right now, it needs to say 'Edge' vs. Alberto Del Rio. We all know Del Rio faces whomever the champ may be, but as of now, WWE.com lists matches for WrestleMania as 'Edge vs. Alberto Del Rio'. Info about Del Rio facing the champ is directly above in the background section anyway. The match on this page is sourced straight from WWE.com. Maybe I suggest we add a 'subject to change' note or something like that? If Edge loses the title, then it's not that hard to change it here. Thanks. InFlamester20 (talk) 17:25, 4 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I'll put a note on the edit page requesting it not be changed for these reasons.--Evil Maldini (talk) 17:33, 5 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Wouldn't there be a way we could have both? Like "Edge" or if someone else wins the chamber? Would it still fit in the box? Dictabeard (talk) 04:37, 19 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
At this time we have a reliable source that says its Edge V. Del Rio if that so thats what we will list its as.--SteamIron 11:14, 19 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Many sources now are saying it could be Mystero vs Del Rio, with Christian (who takes Zigglers spot) either fueding with Edge, or tag teaming with him again. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.209.180.124 (talk) 01:52, 20 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Alright Edge has won the chamber match, it's official now. This discussion has ended.--Voices in my Head WrestleMania XXVII 22:18, 21 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

{{edit semi-protected}} The WWE released the new and official promotional poster for this event, please change the current poster on this page and replace it with the new one. Jimmy Hart[edit]

Hulk Hogan Tweeted The Following: (“I think it’s great for Jim Hart to go back to the WWE as Jerry Lawler’s manager at WrestleMania.”

“I just hope it’s not a one-off like The Rock. Jimmy still lives for being right in the middle of all the action. He did what was best for himself.”) (Source: http://twitter.com/hulkhogan4real) I Suggest That The Jerry Lawler Match Be EditedLTC. K-O Capt (talk) 03:38, 7 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Twitter is not a reliable source. STATic message me! 03:53, 7 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, from what I read in WP:RS, it is, if the account is verified. However, there's nothing else verifying this passing reference as true, and Hogan has later added that he was simply guessing and did not know what the plans were. Hazardous Matt (talk) 14:18, 7 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
As has been said many times already, people can just wait until WWE itself verifies it on their website. Even if Hogan's account is verified, he's hardly the most reliable source, especially considering he doesn't even work for WWE anymore. ECWAGuru (talk) 14:58, 7 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Which is what I said, thank you. Hazardous Matt (talk) 16:08, 7 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Wait, The Wrestling Observer Wrote This: "WWE is reportedly not happy that Hulk Hogan tweeted about Jimmy Hart coming in as a manager for Jerry Lawler against Michael Cole at WrestleMania. A source within the company says they are so pissed off that they may show footage this coming week of both Triple H and The Undertaker beating Hogan." Not Only That But I Saw Nowhere in The Twitter Where he Said He Guessed —Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.29.89.181 (talk) 02:15, 8 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Using WP:RS his Twitter account can only be used to reference information about Hogan or the company he works for. And he did clarify that he was only guessing. There are third-party reports saying so. Just let it drop until something is actually announced. Hazardous Matt (talk) 14:00, 8 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Matches announced on Smackdown![edit]

What about matches announced at tapings? WCW Fan 2000 (talk) 07:13, 18 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

As said several times above, just wait until a match is announced on WWE.com. It needs to have a verifiable source. WWE can always tape something on Tuesday and edit/change its mind by Friday (as has happened many times before).BarryTheUnicorn (talk) 13:46, 18 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Additions[edit]

Two things I would like to add (but cannot) and simply call to the attention of those who can:

1. In the "stipulations" box, it should be noted that all members of the Nexus (sans, obviously, Punk himself) have been banned from ringside;
2. A background in the "buildup" section for the Corre's 8-man tag, which I would be glad to write and email or whatever to the proper authorities.

the event section sound bias because it says's "great match" in hhh vs undertaker and it says "very slow match" on cena vs miz these are not neutral —Preceding unsigned comment added by 27.3.102.100 (talk) 09:52, 9 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It also sounds like it was written by a 15 year old. I tried to edit it but whoever has control over it is obviously an idiot and left it like it was. I tried to clean it up and make it neutral, but nope. Not gonna happen. "The Rocks says it doesn't matter what the GM says." There are like 100 things wrong with that statement being in the article. How about what I tried to do: "The Rock came out to intervene, but the Raw GM made an announcement. The Rock went to read it and disregarded it." - KinkESizemore

I agree, we need to have the article unlocked so we can fix up whatever "editor" decided to give his personal play-by-play on it. It's far from neutral or a good description of the matches. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.100.20.87 (talk) 13:15, 20 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The Rock Vs Cena[edit]

The match was agreed upon for less than 365 days from when the next Wrestlemania would take place; this marks it as less than year. Please unlock the article so the lie can be fixed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.100.20.87 (talk) 03:01, 20 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

ATTENTION IDIOT WHO FIRST EDITED THIS PAGE AFTER WRESTLEMANIA[edit]

Leave this page alone. Your article writing skills are lame (written by a 15 year old) and not neutral. I have rewritten the article to the best of my ability and people may edit grammar errors and small details I missed but for the love of God PLEASE DO NOT PUT IT BACK THE WAY IT WAS. I did it once already and I am prepared to do it again. I have the text saved on my computer and will continue to re-edit it should you try reverting it back. This article deserves better writing. Thank you. User:KinkESizemore —Preceding undated comment added 14:51, 20 April 2011 (UTC).[reply]

Your writing was pretty bad also; it confused past and present tenses a lot.

Just unlocked the article so proper editors can fix the shoddy work.

At least it was better than his. And, mind you, I was editing HIS work. - User:KinkESizemore —Preceding undated comment added 21:30, 27 April 2011 (UTC).[reply]

The injury of The Undertaker[edit]

I think it's extremely important to note that the match between HHH and The Undertaker, left him unable to walk back from the ring.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.100.20.87 (talk) 21:01, 20 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This would need to be sourced as well, particularly whether or not it was kayfabe or legit. Ultra X987 (talk) 01:57, 21 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You're suggesting that the rules of Wikipedia be ignored? On what grounds? Ultra X987 (talk) 12:04, 21 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

On the grounds I gave a source.

The Undertaker is well known to go to extreme steps to protect his gimmick.

"Well known" is a violation of WP:OR. PROVE that it's "well known". What's in what you provided is already there in effect. Ultra X987 (talk) 23:24, 21 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Fine, whatever dude. People like you wreck this place. I personally know Mark and he is in hopstial at the moment I type this but... we'll let you "smarks" edit it how you like. :) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.100.20.87 (talk) 00:44, 22 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The main "events".[edit]

Note that there was only and always in only one main event at PPVs.

Please edit the article to reflect this. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.100.20.87 (talk) 21:01, 20 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Provide a source that proves this to be so. Ultra X987 (talk) 01:56, 21 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

During the PPV, the announcers refer to the final match as the main event. As is done at all events.

Promotional material says otherwise. Ultra X987 (talk) 12:05, 21 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The Event says otherwise. In the time frame, the actual event is what is said on the final say.

Change it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.100.20.87 (talk) 15:30, 21 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

No. Prove that there was only one main event and don't violate WP:OR while you are on about it. Ultra X987 (talk) 23:25, 21 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Except I did give you proof. If you watched the show (as I did), then you would know this. I believe it is illegal to put up recorded events with permission, do you suggest we violate the law?

Can we tidy up this article?[edit]

The description of the "main" events/aftermath is shoddy and needs to be of higher standards. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.100.20.87 (talk) 00:46, 22 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

So we're not allowed to fix up the descriptions? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.100.20.87 (talk) 06:44, 25 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Go ahead and fix it up. I think I already said you all could. Please do so. I only used what was there, and did the best I could. I cleaned it up some more. We just need more accurate and detailed descriptions without being redundant and non-neutral. User:KinkESizemore —Preceding undated comment added 21:57, 27 April 2011 (UTC). The fact is that it's still being disupted as non-neutral. Which means nobody can edit it. It's not that you did a bad job, per se, it's just that you seemed to write it from more of a commentator's view rather than a neutral party. (In the language you use, not the actual neutral argument). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.100.20.87 (talk) 09:35, 28 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Are the durations of matches correct ?[edit]

As long as I remember, the no holds match between The Undertaker and Triple H lasted well over 25 minutes. But it is writeen less than 10 minutes. Also, the match between Jerry Lawler and Michael Cole didn't continue till 45 minutes. Durations might be correct but I think someone should check.

The durations of matches have been edited multiple times and I don't think any version recently has been accurate. Looks like some of the sources don't show the duration supposedly stated, either. Byuusetsu (talk) 18:06, 11 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Music overdubs on DVD...[edit]

Having seen the PPV broadcast and the DVD release, I know that on the PPV version, Triple H's intro began with "For Whom The Bell Tolls", but in the DVD, this song was replaced with a generic sound-alike. Also, on the PPV, The Undertaker came out (and left) to Johnny Cash's song "Ain't No Grave", but the DVD has his usual theme "Rest in Peace" overdubbed in. Why the alterations? Blozier2006 (talk) 22:48, 24 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Music licensing issues due to copyright and media distribution laws in the United States an abroad. WWE dubs over content to avoid paying royalties to the recording artist or copyright owning music label. --UnquestionableTruth-- 00:40, 25 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I am assuming that it would be cost-prohibitive for WWE to obtain proper licensing for copyrighted tracks to be used on home video releases (such as I cited in my original post), whereas it is not as expensive for a one-time use (such as the live PPV broadcast). Am I correct? Blozier2006 (talk) 22:10, 16 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Very much so.--UnquestionableTruth-- 08:22, 17 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
