Not related to the NPF[edit]

This new WPF is not related to the NPF. The NPF used the WPF and WPSL as its initial names before the NPF was launched in 2005. The USSA Pride left the NPF when its 10-year contract with NPF expired. The Pride played exhibition seasons independently for the next few years.

The NPF folded during the COVID pandemic after years of struggling. The new WPF was announced after the NPF suspended operations. I do not know the status of the trademark/copyright/whatever of the WPF name, but I expect that it had nothing to do with the NPF/

How many teams are in WPF?[edit]

According to the website there are ONLY TWO teams in the WPF league: Vipers and Smoke. We should update the wiki. https://wprofastpitch.com/ 192.223.136.13 (talk) 16:52, 8 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
