Gala bingo[edit]

Peters Hill[edit]

St. Peters Church was not completed until 1879, building started in 1854 on the site of a previous Chapel. There are a couple of photographs around on the internet from around 1870 that show the building without a Spire (1868) or with a short tower (1870). The appearence of Peters Hill as an address in the 1871 census makes it unlikely that the name "Peters Hill" originates from the visibility of St. Peters Spire from Peters Hill as the spire was not there in 1871. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.75.192.188 (talk) 17:41, 19 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
